I bought my 97 Pre 2150 a few months ago and I knew the seating capaicyt based off specs online. But unlike my boats in the past it doesnt have the Coast Guard sticker anywhere on it that I can find that shows the capacity. Anyone have any ideas or did they just not put them on these models?

My understanding that all boats are required one unless it's "yacht certified".
Bottom line here is Tige was very inconsistent when it came to placing the capacity ratings. My 2003 21i did not have one.
Another thing is, I have no idea what the logic is to determining the capacity on those plates. My 2008 Response LXI (20'6") is rated for 9 but my cousins 2004 Supra Comp LTS (19' 11.5") is rated fro 10?Last edited by zad0030; 05-29-2012, 05:16 PM.Common Sense is not so Common

Just because a boat has a sticker doesn't mean it's required. The manufacture might just do it voluntarily?
Page 58 of this USCG pamphlet seems to answer the question as far as the USCG is concerned.

Do not exceed the load specified in the U.S. Coast Guard Maximum Capacities information label, commonly called the “capacity plate,” required by federal law on motorized mono-hull boats less than 20 feet in length.
Each state may have different requirements? Maybe that's why you see some with them and some without?Last edited by TeamAllen; 05-29-2012, 08:46 PM.Mike Allen, Tigé owner since 1997
