Prop options for the RZ 2?

I want to look at getting another prop, and use the 537 for a spare.

What are the options out there?

I want to have a more "connected" feeling to the happy lever...ie when I gas it, I want to feel it go.

I don't want to lose top end, and most likely won't load the boat down other than surfing, and for that it would be pro ballast with maybe a custom sac replacing the stock 350.

The 1235 is an option, but it will cause some top end loss - otherwise known as the high altitude prop. If you plan to run a custom sac you may experience cavitation depending on how much weight you load. The 1235 will better overall for fuel economy if you primarily surf and will eliminate cavitation.

I have a 1235 on my 2007 rz2 with the marine power 340hp. Dry, it does 41 or 42 wide open throttle at 6000 feet. Only did it once. No need to go that fast and or waste gas. She goes 25mph just fine. As far as performance at speeds less than WOT, great. I use it for surfing and she performs as it should.

I am at 700ft above sea level....how is the "feel" when you goose it going 25 or so?

I ask, because, with my last boat, I could tow the kids at 20 or so on the tubes and then goose it and they could feel the acceleration. It helped when whipping them in turns when you could accelerate with authority since the boat naturally slows down on turns......

I had them put the 1235 on our new RZ2. It's a great prop for pushing weight but as mentioned above at altitude you will top out in the low 40s. At only 700ft you might be able to run faster. Holeshot is great so goosing it for the kids tubing should work just fine.
