Maximum weight in rear locker

Isn't there a weight limit for rear lockers? My boat has a factory label that says you cant exceed their limit #. I believe its somewhere under 200 pounds. What am i missing here? Could someone clarify this

If you have factory ballast system (on 2009 and newer boats), then you just need to make sure that the factory underfloor tank is filled before putting weight on the floor. Then it can support the weight.

If you do not have the factory ballast system, that underfloor space is filled with foam and putting weight on the floor will not be a problem as long as the weight isn't too concentated in one spot (sacs distribute the load just fine).

no, was thinking of installing some cubes/fat sacks on floor

Like Dingle says, If you don't have underfloor tanks you will be fine filling up that compartment with sacs

No owner or operator of any vessel shall knowingly permit such vessel to be loaded with passengers or cargo beyond the maximum allowable weight capacity of such vessel, nor beyond its safe carrying capacity, taking into consideration weather and other operating conditions.
