WS Syn4 Blowing Fuse - Stereo Help!

I have a Syn4 wired to my bank battery for my tower speakers. The Blue Sea 60A battery terminal fuse for this amp keeps getting blown. This only started happening after I picked the boat up for the dealer this past weekend. I know they had to unhook that battery to do some work for me. So did something just not get hooked back up right, low battery, tower speakers turned up too high? I have the same setup on the same battery for my Syn6 Amp and it's working fine without blowing a fuse. Looks like this bank battery has 5 wires/cables hooked to the positive side - Hour meter, Syn4, Syn6, and 2 others( maybe from house battery and alternator, not sure ). Below are a couple pics of my setup. Thanks in advance for your help.

This probably won't fix your issue but should help overall. The syn 4 has 3 25 amp fuses so you should probably swap out that 60 amp fuse for an 80 amp fuse.

Under what conditions is the fuse blowing? Is it an instant blow or does it pop some time during use? Fuses blow due to over-current. The over-current, or excessive load or short if you want to call it, is happening after the fuse.

Yea, fuse is blowing as soon as i turn the key to the accessory position so it seems to definitely be an instant blow. No one sells these fuses locally which means i'll have to order online. We're heading out today so looks like i won't have tower speakers for this weekend. Atleast the in-boat amp/speakers are all working!

You could go to a locally audio place and get a inline fuse holder

Are you sure that the yellow wire in that picture is a negative wire, usually that color would be a positive 12volts on all the time or an ACC on when the key switch is in the ACC position

IIRC, by the ABYC, yellow is GND. That looks like an on-board charger harness. If so, then the GND could be yellow.

Am I missing it? Where is the ground wire from the amp? Maybe it is sort of hidden by the black background...but I only see the yellow wire. And is the battery grounded to the engine?

If the fuse blows (short occurs) when amp is turned on via the romaote turn-on would indicate an internal amp issue. Sounds like a battery got hooked up backwards. Did the dealer do any actual stereo work, or just have the batteries out for what ever they did?

Not the expert here, but wouldn't the Syn amp have over current protection? Thus, wouldn't the amp self protect itself before blowing a fuse? Plus the Syn has it's own set of fuses for output protection.

                    Just my two cents.

BTY....talking abouts cents. Canada got rid their penny (currency).

I can't wait until the US does the same.

It cost 2.5C to make a penney , and all mine go into a big jar.

I am not sure its the problem, but it looks like you have a nearly perfect arc from negative to positive with the metal wire that is in the vent hose. Loos like a treat dumb place to pass the vent with a metal wire in it. Or the battery needs a box.

Looking at it again....I think that is a real problem...unless you have the lid on your box when this happens.

The Syn-4 does have three 25A fuses that are intended to blow in the event of an internal short, but nothing is absolute when an electrical component fails.

If the short was external of the amp, I would expect the fuse to blow as soon as its replaced and the cable is reconnected to the battery, but it blows when the amp is turned on.

talltigeguy, i think you might be on to something. The dealer replaced the blower for me and ever since then the fuse has been getting blown. It appears that the blower vent hose got moved/placed into a bad position during that fix. I've just purchased another fuse so I'll move the vent hose and give that a try. Thx!
