we have a 98 2200V. Not sure of the differences. Ours fits 4 adults and 8 kids OK (a little cramped with everyone is trying to move at the same time) It is a little underpowered at altitude but does well at sea level. Slalom wake is OK for recreational free skiiers with 1-2 people in the boat and not much gas. It definitely hits harder with a full boat. Wakeboard wake is good up to intermediate plus riders but is really sensitive to speed and weight distribution. Surfing...I'm still trying to get a good wave but others have done so.
Overall is a pretty fun boat. In the past 3 summers have replaced: alternator, cap/rotor, engine water pump, sea water pump, steering cable, rudder (it was pretty worn), strut shaft support (came a little bent . Upgraded the prop to an ACME something or other, added stargazer perfect pass, and added a Sampson Razor Tower. It has about 550 hours and runs great except for a little belt squeal under load from a slightly cracked alternator bracket that I need to replace.
It has a center pylon that is a little in the way. I took it out and loved the extra room but then put it back so I could use my barefoot boom to teach first timers how to ski, wakeboard, etc.
If it had a more powerful engine, composite stringers and a composite floor I would probably just keep it forever.

Bakes- What engine do you have? THe boat I am looking at has 454 w/385 horse.
She has 420 hours & is in very good shape. I previously owned a 96
pre2002 and it ran great but the floor had issues. So I understand
about the stringers. Will check this one out alot better.
Also how does the boat handle big water[chop]? I'm not expecting great but anything has to be better than the pre2002. It was terrible.Last edited by 87saleen171; 05-21-2012, 11:22 PM.

Handles chop reasonably well. My tower moves a bit in big lake chop though. All in all I really don't fear chop in it.
I have the mercruiser 350 mag MPI motor. I would make sure your motor is fuel injected. I grew up with carburated motors and am not a fan....then again I like spending time on the water more than tinkering with the carb. 385 horses will be plenty with that boat.
