Need Help Trailering

Sawyer1206 - I also had this issue with my Dorsey trailer - had to center by hand while still floating the back end. I just purchased a new Boatmate Trailer and will try it out this weekend.

It also depends on the angle of the boat ramp. I asume you are going to the San Bernard - you putting in at Churchill or 521?

Our RZR and boat mate trailer we also have to back down deeper to push against the guide post to get the boat on there just right or the boat will be against the fender on one side. The dealer said that there boat mate trailers are really tight too. We just may be picky about not letting the carpet on the fender rub the gel coat while we trailer on our boat though.

I always leave the tops of the fenders out of the water a bit, and once im on the trailer i have the truck back up alittle more and i winch it up by hand.

Trailering the boat is totally dependent on the angle of the ramp. Take all these tips as a 'rule of thumb'. You really need to just get some ramp time when it isn't busy and figure it out. Hope I am not coming across rude, I just don't want you doing what one guy is while your ramp may be totally different. Two examples: Hemmingway at Lake Mead is so shallow that my 1 ton dually needs the water to touch the bottom of the rear truck bumper(front wheels are 8-10' into the water) in order to get the boat on the trailer. Lake Pleasant(near Phx, AZ) is so steep that the rear wheels of the truck barely get wet and the boat is floating. Just take your time and you will get the feel of it. Good luck man.
