    Boat cover

Hey guys/gals, I need some information. I have recently moved and can no longer keep my 2000 21V Limited in the cozy garage. I have found a storage facillity, but, they will not let me put my tent-like canopy over the boat. I have the origional custom cover from SkiDock and it is still in "ok" shape but I want a cover like the Nautique peeps have....OVER THE TOWER AND ALL!!! I have called Barlett Sails on Hudson Bend and they are saying around $900 to do the job. There is also Canvas Specialities in Leander I need to try. I want it to drop down all the way to the trailer fenders so as to keep the sun from fading my paint till I can find some covered storage (most of which are full now). Any other ideas from you guys? The price is not the issue...just want the best course of action!
    Thanks in advance. Rees

i would just keep your same cover on it and find the largest tarp you can get and use that on the outside of your cover. i do that when the weather gets really nasty...over the tower and everything. It will keep the water out and even keep your cover from getting wet. Even with a fitted tower cover, dust will still get in, the tarp is just an extra layer of preventive covering. Since they won't let you put your tent over the boat, wrap the tent around the boat instead!

i keep mine outside as well, since i have no garage, so i know your troubles...

      boat cover con't...

Thanks for the response. I may have not made myself clear of the cover thing. I want to keep the tower UP while I store it during the summer and the cover I am talking about will enable me to do this. I have seen a few boats stored on lake Austin in thier boathouses with covers over the tower (up) draping down the sides of the boat. I have a huge cover that will drap over the boat as well as the tower while down but want something a little easier to handle. I am trying to not have to fold the tower everytime I put it in storage. Hopefully this will only be for a few months when some covered storage comes available.

      Thanks again, Rees

        no, i understood you...

i was saying keep your cover on the boat as you normally do it. Then find a large tarp that can cover the entire boat with the tower up. But, that's just a temp money saver so you don't have to fork out $400+ on a new cover. It's what i do during the winter to keep the rain from soaking through the cover.
