Do You trailer with bimini attached to tower and racks in or out?
Bimini off and in the bed of the truck. I figure anything that I can do yo make it last longer. Also, the previous owner did not and the legs scratched the tower.
Yes, Bimini in boot but web straps not enough. I add 4 bungee cords to keep it snug against alpha z tower.
Racks out but empty.
Basically same for me - leave in boot. Although instead of bungees, I use zip ties to tower on both sides and a strap tie down up to the top of the tower. Very tight against tower.
I will also zip tie the ends of the boot to keep from scooping air.
Travel with racks in/empty. Socks on to keep from picking up bugs. Socks on rear view mirror and tower speakers as well.
How far are you towing and at what speeds? If it is just a few miles and slower speeds you can pretty much do what you want. If your racks lock in I would tow with them in and no boards in them.

I mainly tow about 15 minutes at 55-60 on back roads. My racks don't lock folded in...maybe some sox for them and leave me out? My bu had the remove able racks so I always took them off to travel....unless I wanted to polish bugs off.
Same with my Bimini...I took it off and put it on the floor of the boat to keep all the bugs off.
I trailer with bimini wrapped in the boot, and I use these on the bimini legs to keep them from scratching the tower. The straps on the boot have held it to the tower so far.

Ohhhh, what a fantastic tip! The extended bimini pole is always banging around and difficult to isolate with a bungy strap. I have a few of those rubber coated ties around and will start using them this weekend
