Pole solution is put it in a cup holder, that's what I do andd have no issues...
The floor flexes a bit in the up position thanks to the torque you put on it by moving that giant floorboard but if it flexes while you're walking on it that's a different story and is an issue. Ours may rattle and move but hey that's the price I pay for not having to cut a giant hole in the deck when my mastercraft gets recalled... Also it does depress slightly when stepped on but it certainly does not flex, it's the entire hatch sinking down into its groove. It's a weird feeling at first until you realize how nice it is when you service the boat on your own.
If yours truly is flexing then it needs to be adressed
