Timmy...that's when I noticed it...with the carpet down.I'm fame.with some give but it feels thin under foot...almost like pushing your finger down on a cheese bubble on a pizza.
It also looks like its a two piece hatch...and maybe isn't fused in the middle? Idk...but it itls going to bug me..heck even the boss said it bugs her...and she is married to me...so she has a saints disposition !

The hatch is beefy with ribbed bracing glassed in, the noise your hearing is the fiberglass rubbing the fiberglass on the sides, by no means will it collapes or break, the carpeting deadens the sound.
The malibu hatch is a carpeted honeycomed aluminum, we had those hatches collapse due to corrosion into the core, they flexed also, but you wouldnt have heard it due to being wrapped in carpet, I had to change quite a few when I was a Malibu dealer.

I heard the same noise on one of the 2011 RZ2 - a couple of potential solutions to solve the noise:
* weather stripping
* light coating of lithium or other lube between the rub areas
* I had some custom orthotics built (plastic on plastic) which made a bizzare sound - they told me to use candle wax on the bottom of them and low/behold it went away.
* perhaps a custom piece of foam pad (like carpet padding, but weather resistent)
I am with Bruizza - really worried, but I will ask the question when I am down at the factory next week. I am sure this is not the first compliant, nor the last.

We took delivery of our 2012 RZ2 last weekend, and I can also say that I am concerned/bothered by the hatch flex and squeak. It was one of the first things I noticed when checking out the boat. Having come from a Mastercraft, and having owned numerous other boats in the past, I would not have expected that this would be an issue with a boat in this price bracket.
That unfortunately wasn't the only issue we encountered. Here is the running list:
- Flexy & squeaky cockpit hatch
- 2 speakers not working (both on starboard side)
- Fiberglass corner under the driver's seat (just behind your heels) is scratched terribly (almost looks like somebody was wearing shoes with steel cleats on the bottom and rubbing their feet against this corner section -- given that this is a brand new boat right from the factory, I am perplexed how this happened)
- 2 areas of the interior vinyl have abrasions on them (I have owned boats for 5+ years that have never had vinyl abrasions, so somebody in the factory isn't being very careful)
- Center section of windshield was defective (glass had a bump in it, looked like it wasn't handled properly as the glass was being formed)
- Tige now locates the cooler in the bow area, but the mooring cover and poles they provided don't take this design change into consideration (you can't put the bow pole on top of the cooler, unless you want to damage/impact your vinyl cushions)
- Gas gauge is extremely irregular, after 5 hours of use, it jumps between 98% and 52% and everything in between, all in the matter of seconds
Aside from these defects, I also found a general lack of attention to detail in a few other areas (nothing of major concern that I would demand that the dealer or Tige remedy, but things that I would not expect for a boat of this price and premium market segment).
I have notified my dealer of these issues, and now await how they will respond. They indicate that they will take care of everything, which I hope they will.

I 2nd their overlooking the obvious just to get boat orders filled, when recently installing a upgraded stereo to my 2011 found both of my rear ducts-one for blower/starbort side, and other on port side were ran thru such small hole they were 90% collapsed. Ended up cutting down rear trim panels to properly get duct up to mesh screen without affecting integrity of such a thin cheap duct. Also came across crimped wires that i could pull wire from connector. Thats why I do my own work! Order your boat stripped down and build it your way. Their markups on other peoples products is also very discouraging. Come on TIGE?????????

Clax the gas gauge could be because the tank is located on the middle of the floor and the float is located in the middle of the tank. You are sitting still it shows close to full. You start going and the fuel rushes to the back of the tank thus the float drops. This drove me crazy on our last boat until I was shown what was happening. Just guessing here as I don't have the particulars of what is happening with your boat.
