Ill put a positive spin here a little......

I cleaned boat over last 3 nights and its pretty nicely made. I like it better than the bu on garage appeal, shall see if I can soak it tomorrow and see how in runs.

Once all the construction debris is out, it cleans up nice...kinda like that cute farm girl down the street when you were a kid.

A few minor flaws including some poorly touched up blemish marks on the rear of the hull, noiiiiisy tower when folding, and of course the hatch issue.

A few wish list things that would take this boat from nice to niiiiiiice......

How about that little cut out under helm seat...a nicer trim piece to cover all the exposed fiberglass.

A non skid mat in the glove box

Fade and zone control of speakers on the tige touch

Option of adding the WS420 at the factory

See, positive and a real short list at this point!

I've always wondered why they haven't added this as an option a long time ago.

Guys like you want to conjoin (confuse) dealership obligations with factory obligations. They are two completely separate issues that need to be approached separately and differently.

I have the best Tige dealer in the country 5 miles away, (and the worst MC dealer too) so new boat issues or used boat issues is cake for us. I do most of the work myself, but when and if I need superior knowledge and workmanship, I have it 15 minutes away. Some of these poor souls have to drive 6 hours to their dealer. Ouch! That's 6 hours of stewing over a trampoline floor, which could easily manifest into an ulcer.

Manufacturing quality issues should be addressed differently and posting a video online is acceptable IMO. Again, the approach is vastly different based on the age of the boat owner and if you notice, the reply methodology are consistent with generational age groups. Us old timers are more reserved than the young savy whipper snappers of Gen X.

What's really interesting according to Dom Forte is that the BU and MC boards are screened. What does that say? (response please)

Rick Cortell's efforts will go a long way and the word will spread that he's not a lost forgotten fat cat sitting atop Mt Everest smoking a pipe.

So in the end, public videos of unacceptable mfg quality may seem shameful, but it will produce a long term gain as long as Mr. Cortell takes a proactive personal stance and shows his face from time to time. If I was Rick Cortell, I would come straight out and apologize (online) instead of skirting the issue to the dealer. Why? Because people love love love humility. It's really hard to brow beat a humble person or brow beat their product or service. We all know the rule when we go to a restaurant and get dissatisfying food or service. In the end, it will be the response of the restaurant owner/manager that decides if we come back. If it's the owner and he or she not only offers a humble apology, a free dinner, but also befriends you and your guests as well, you'll magically think the world of the restaurant. Same goes for Mr. Cortell and Tige. He can take a sour situation and turn it into apple pie (with ice cream). It's truely a golden publicity opportunity for Mr. Cortell.

As for dealers, I would never take this approach, and thus you are correct Mr RT. I need Dom and his crew to like me, which is not easy, but none the less....I need some type of successful relationship because I'm dependent on them.

Shame and humiliation are extremely powerful tools. I've read 3 books on this subject in the past 3 years. Manufacturer or politician, its the best approach because all others lead to violence in some varying fashion.

              .
Dom is wrong for putting mc board in same category as bu or even nautique boards. MC board is moderated different than bu and nautique board. MC sees their board as a marketing tool and not a gathering of owners to discuss problems and solutions. You would not see pictures or anything negative on mc board. Malibu board still has pictures and active discussion of a boat that Malibu is replacing. Malibu does not screen negative content like mc.

Point is, Rick should not have needed to get involved. How many people have walked or crawled in that boat since the floor was put in? Somebody at the factory should have noticed that the floor didn't feel up to standard. If the dealer had cleaned it, they may have noticed it as well.

The graphics issue is different. That issue would not show up at the factory. That is a dealer issue. Great job on stepping up and replacing the graphics. That was handled very well and I am sure the floor will be handled as well.

I am not here to stir the pot, I would be saying the same thing about malibu as well. I don't bash any brand of boat. I am approaching this purely from a customer, or potential customer, standpoint.

Contact your engine brand for warranty transfer, then check with anyone of several extended warranty marine insurance companys.
The engine transfer is about 100.00.
Hope this helps, your selling dealer should have this info also.

Spoke to Rick today. He was very concerned about my experience and was very open to looking into what was going on. Apparently the hatches are 2 layers and can delaminate...not often...but they can.

So they are willing to replace the hatch for me.

Now thats good customer service...when the Prez calls you on your mobile!

Sort of reminds me of years ago when Tige sold a wood called Teak that reallly was not a teak wood for swim platform. All manufacturers have their own trade offs I guess.
Taxman got all the money :(
