no chain need on it either!
But 4:1 anchor line to depth ratio. That is a lot of rope compared to the 2:1 of a box anchor.

I have 2 small box anchors, one for the Z3 and one for the bass boat. Love em! Fold up nice and neat, no chain, and hold like you are bolted to the bottom.

I have the Box Anchor,Shore Spike and Danik hook. That is one rock solid combo. The Small Box Anchor is all you will need.It has held my boat along with another 20 ft boat in 20 mph winds. It holds in rocks, stumps, sand and clay. That's all the testing i've done so far.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Actually if you look at the list price it's right in line with the small box Anchor. The extra small lists for considerably less.

Box anchor rocks - I have used 5-6 different anchors and they all suck. The box anchor sets in seconds with no backing off and has never broker free. Read all the reviews and you will hear the same thing. Agree on chain - I already had one and threw it on just because I had one.

Went to the slideanchor page just to look for you and fount this... And these guys saved me $60 by checking the shipping option I chose and sending me a refund check with my purchase! For me, customer service goes a long way and these cats have it in spades. Apparently, it only takes a day of UPS ground to get from Lake Havasu to Tucson...

Just to echo everyone's opinion here the Box Anchor is the ticket. Aside from being an amazingly effective and simple design the company behind it is excellent and stands behind everything they sell 100%. We've had the pleasure of working events side by side for several years.

Had a medium sized one for a couple seasons and replaced it with a small that works just fine. Between that and the slide anchor sand spike it's all you need.

Go big or go home and pick up the polished one!

I fell in love with the XYZ anchor.

                            http://www.xyzanchor.com/

In my opinion, it's the best anchor design of ALL anchors, especiall for sand and high currents or storm conditions.

i guess i will have to disagree with most everybody, while i have owned a box anchor for over 15 years, and still use it today, it is not the pefect anchor, it works fine 80% of the time, but every year we go to lake powell, and every year we will get a storm with 60 mile an hour winds and the box anchor will break loose, it will reset itself and then break loose again and again, several of us end up standing in the water holding boats so the dont bang into each other, it turns into a party actually. i will be doing some other kind of anchoring system this year for powell other than the box anchor. might take a look at the xyz anchor.

I mentioned this in another recent box anchor thread. Blessing and curse of the box anchor -- auto reset is nice, but with shifty winds (even moderate shifty winds), the box anchor will walk.
