I think I will just carry less weight and make sure the boat is balanced when towing because the front end already rides low enough. I took on water one time while picking up my fallen rider. I need to figure out the best way to pick up fallen riders.

Man...seeing those pictures I could only think of the line...
      "Nothin' but good times ahead...."

Is your model year 2000 engine fuel injected or is it carboreated? My old carb I/O would hesitate when I'd gun it, then catch on. I used carb cleaner to try and fix--then had the carb rebuilt and problem went away. It was sporadic and a PITA when it happened.

      Good luck

That is something you will learn to avoid but, it happens to the best of us. I took a little tiny one over the bow yesterday. It usually happens to me when we are slalom skiing. With no one in the back, three kids in the bow, me driving and my buddy in the observers seat, the now rides especially low. I got caught with a child moving around which meant I couldn't grab some throttle to get the nose up.

You'll get used to it and you'll be able to avoid 99% of those situations. The key is rolling of the throttle instead of cutting it and keeping the nose up a little if you see some big rollers coming.

Be sure to check out my ballast thread.

Checked my trans oil in the water after riding it up to normal temperature and it was at the full line. The boat ran flawless all day so I'm guessing it was the weight on the boat that made it feel like the prop was slipping.

Any suggestions on what prop I should be running at 5000' altitude? Once again I have a 2000 22i with a 350 Mag.

I boat anywhere between 4000 to 6500 ft. elevation. With the exact same boat/motor you have. I run the Acme 653 right now. It's a 13 x 11.5 with a .060 cup. Huge improvement over the factory 13 x 13 OJ. However, I still feel there is room for improvement. I checked yesterday on gps and WOT yielded 36.4mph @ 4400 rpm. With 450lbs of ballast in in the starboard sac and only 170lbs between my wife and spotter (4yo), I was running 10.6mph @ 2000 rpm. I'd like to get a little more top end out of it. Maybe something like a 14 x 12. There is tons of room under there for a bigger prop. I'm really kind of set up for surfing more than anything right now but, we've been getting back into slalom more and more but, I just completed my surf ballast project so, I'm not sure what to do.

Per usual, the best thing to do is call Acme. They will ask you lots of questions, give them lots of answers. Mention the "slip" issue.

Thanks for the reply! Ya, it's more of the top end speed I'm looking for. I'm coming down from a 28' performance boat to my Tige, and every time I'm in this boat I'm thinking of something new or different

Be sure your taps are on and use it, that is the best feature of Tige's. Play with it in various speeds and water conditions and you will find you can use it to smooth the ride or get more speed at the top end. Generally running at around 3-4 is good, in rough water kick it up a little. When doing water sports use it to tune the wake.

I haven't figured out the Taps system yet. How do you know what setting you're on? I didn't see a gauge and do you use the button on the throttle to engage it?

Use it just like the drive trim on your faster stern drive boats. When cruising I run taps the trim plate all the way down to help accelerate and get on plane. When on plane I slowly and incrementally give some up trim to the taps switch until I get a little porpoise, then I trim down slightly to stop the porpoise.

When towing wake boarders or surfers, I find the taps setting they prefer and leave it there until a new rider wants a different setting.

This is the correct way to use taps. I would like to add that with this particular hull, I run the taps between 1 and 2 for rough water cruising. It is a flat bottom hull design and raising the nose of the boat only makes the ride rougher. You need to use that steep entry V to slice through the waves as opposed to using the flat section to slap the faces of the waves.
