In my routine maintenance/pre season tune up, I got a bad rotor. The boat ran ok the other day with last years tune up still in it so, with new plugs, cap rotor and sensor, it should have ran like a dream. It ran like chit. It felt like it was way out of time, everything was new. I checked and unchecked everything but could find nothing. It was after hours for my dealership but, I managed to leave Ryan (service manager) a message in hopes he would have some sort of idea. He called me back this evening, just before I was ready to pack it in and call off our first day on the water this year. Right away he explained to me what the problem was as they had been chasing the same problem today. Bad batch of rotors they are nearly 90* out of time. I slapped the old one in, clicked the key, purred like kitten.
I'll find out more info next week on the bad batch but, for now, anybody with this issue, keep your old rotor just in case. If you have an issue like mine, its probably that new rotor.
I'm now gonna go load up the boat and go ridin in the mornin.
