I have a beautiful teak swim deck, but it is dangerous! I have small kids and they seem to get hurt on it. I have redone it several times, several different ways, but it is always slippery. I had thought to just cover it with SeaDek, but was told that it will not adhere well do to the oils. SO I am in search of a fiberglass deck. I am not sure if swim decks are pretty standard or not....I have a 2000 22i.

There are no fiberglass platforms for our boats. Tige never made any. If you want fiberglass, you are going to have to do it yourself or have someone do it for you.
Having just had a bunch of stuff finished in truck bed liner in my boat, I'm not sure I would want it on platform. One thing to keep in mind with putting truckbed liner on wood is that it is designed to go on metal. Wood contains a lot of air and when you shoot it with bedliner, that air wants to bubble due to the heat of the product. If they aren't familiar with spraying wood, you might have to tell them how to do it. It has to be done in several very light coats until its sealed.
Personally, I wouldn't go that route. Perhaps you could fabricate a top for the platform. Something which you could do Seadeck on and them screw it to the teak. Just a thought. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Hmm, maybe the bedliner is a good way to go. I've never really had a problem with mine being slick. I've always used teak oil on it. I have found it beneficial to oil it a few days before you plan to go out. I do remember seeing teak oil in the water when I tried to put a coat on the night before heading out. I really didn't want to see that stuff tracked back into the interior so, that was the last time I did that.
I'm thinking a new platform will be my next project. Mine is starting to show it's 12 years. I think this will be the last proper refurb its gonna have in it. After this year, I'm thinking its gonna end up being an outdoor coffee table or bar or something in the back yard. I really want to do a new one out of solid 8/4 Teak but, yikes, that's gonna be spendy. And heavy. It would be rad though. I'm sure I'll just do it out of 4/4. It's the logical way to do it.
You could literally build one out of 3/4 ply and have it bedlined and it'll be plenty strong enough. Your platform has 3 brackets right? I bet you could do the whole thing in a day. Drop it off Monday morning to have it sprayed. Pick it up on the way home and have it back on that night. Then send me the old one in pieces.
Wired,
Ya, I should have clarified that a little better. I'm not sure what year Tige started producing fiberglass platforms for the 22i but, it was after 2000. Might have even been '01 when the new 22i was released. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Might be the watco oil or the other. Looks like they make many different products and not familiar with their stuff. see this post for my spring prep; http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17446

Give this company a call, I bet they can make a solid platform with your mounting brackets. They made one for my bayliner that was a perfect custom fit.
