    1992 2000 slm comp Owners Manual

    Anyone have a link to a owners manual for a 1992 2000 slm comp? I'm trying to learn as much as I can about my boat to get a bunch of know-it-all guys off my back. LOL. I love my boat and love skiing behind her even more. It's exhausting at times proving that a girl can drive, care for, trailer, tow, and trouble shoot her own boat. Any information on this boat that anyone can give is GREATLY appreciated. Such as, what temp should it be running at? Seems like mine is a little hot. Also I'm trying to figure out what switch is for what as none of them are working but the blower. Tried new bulbs, still no luck. Next how do I check the fuse panel? The more info about things I can do myself the better.

    Welcome to the site. You've come to the right place.

    Your temps should be around 170. If its running hot, the first thing I would do is replace the impeller. If it gets damaged, it will not pump water into the motor, resulting in high temps. Have you started it out of the water? If so, it needs to be on a hose. Do not start it dry or it will destroy the impeller.

    Switches. Is there a little black button under each switch? If so, those are breakers. Push them in and see if they click back into the closed position. If they pop back out when you hit the corresponding switch, you have a short somewhere.

    We need pics of the boat. It is a requirement around. If there are no pics, it didn't happen. A '92 Tige is extremely rare. It was the first model year.

    Don't worry girl, we will get you squared away. Don't worry about a manual. The original would more than like be worthless anyways. Bring your question here, we got people for that.

      I've got a 95 which probably have a lot in common. Unfortunately there are no manuals out there for the earlier boats. I did pick up a Selco manual for the motor and tranny.

      I don't remember what temp mine runs at, but I think its about 150 - 160, it could be your boat has a hotter thermostat. Like Nick said, I would take a look at the impeller. If the impeller decides to start letting loose the fragments get into the motor and limit water flow, so when in doubt change it. I'd also recommend upgrading your impeller housing to a one piece unit, it has about 10 less gaskets than the OEM, making changing your impeller a little easier.

      I can take a picture of my switches later on today or this weekend. Mine are all labeled. Did you take a look at the wiring behind the switches? Are they properly connected to the terminals on the switch? My guess would be either a bad switch or bad connections.

      And talk about an amazing water ski wake.

          Not sure what motor was in a 1992. Mercruiser?
          I would get the shop manual for your engine. There is tons of useful information here for part numbers, troubleshooting and general maintenence. I have a Mercruiser and I picked up a shop manual here:

          After selecting inboard/sterndrive, type in your engine serial number near the top of the page so it directs you to the proper book.
          The price may look a little steep for some of these official shop manuals but if it helps you avoid 1-2 hours of dealer shop time it has paid for itself.

                Send pics of boat, engine, and dash, I had a customer with a grey and purple 1992 slm comp, it had the 351 ford pcm.

                  Hands down it was the best slalom boat, had massive spray pockets and very narrow tail, it had little to no wake.

                      I have a 1993 2000 slm comp, orignal owner. the wireing on the older boats,were pretty crude. might have a loose connection on the back of the pannel.tige loved the push on connectors.

                          its pretty quick we also turn a acme 13x13 4 blade. the biggest difference with the MSD it cut the exaust fumes by 3/4.
