2007 24ve?

I am going to look at a 2007 tige 24ve with mp 340hp. Is there anything particular that I need to look for with this model and year?

This is a response I recently posted in a "bad fuel" discussion. This was a big deal at the time with a very simple fix. Without knowledge of the issue, it could have been costly and very time consuming.

My first trip in my used 2007 rz2 with a Marine power 340hp, it wouldn't go past idle speed. It would idle perfectly, but that was it. Any throttle and it would choke. It ended up being my fuel pump. My 2007 has two fuel pumps, one a high pressure and a low pressure. I can't remember which one it is. Anyway, there is a cooling coil around one pump that came loose and it knocked off the power wire on the bottom of the pump. Plugged the wire back in and we were in business. A few weeks later we were running in some rough water, it started to hesitate. I checked the wire again and it was loose. I have since zip-tied the coil up and crimped the wire better to prevent further problem. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply! We took the boat out and it ran pretty well. It needs some major TLC though.

i have an 07 24ve and love it. No problems. 340 is fine--torque-y. Efficient. I surf with the custom Enzo Bags by Chptrill--he's on this forum a lot. I still have the original prop and it works fine.

I would recommend the FAE exhaust, and see if the steering cable has been replaced. My first one was bad after 2 seasons, the new one is much better--I think they sealed it
