    Life Vest Question

Ok, kinda embarasing, but I'm tired of my "love handles" showing when Im wearing my life jacket. :: Anyone have an idea for a longer life jacket for the bigger/modest guy (5'11" 230#)? I would like one that might go down to my waist instead of my belly button. My current life jacket is more like a tube top, and trust me,----that is not a good look! Your input would be appreciated.

I dunno about the life vest. But maybe you can find a man girdle to wear under your existing one

      A comp vest might work.

I believe he meant to say "competition vest" but was too lazy to spell it out. Anyways, there typically not coast guard approved, much thinner, much lighter, but would achieve the end result that your looking for.

        Here's one on Overtons.com

And finding 2XL or 3XL is often difficult, been down that road myself.

        Here's another souce that has 3XL: http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...C&merchID=4006

I'm 6'4", and length of life jackets are always short. I just bought a Hyperlite Comp that is a pull over from Evo sports online. They have free shipping, and quick delivery. I really like the comp vests, I borrowed my friends, and liked how it was longer and covered the "spare tire"!!

However depending where you live, skiing with a competition vest on anything other than a closed course is illegal. I was going to get one, but realized its not worth the hassle from the Sheriffs.

People die in comp vests ... just saying. Take a hard enough hit to come out of your bindings and knock yourself out, a comp vest is not enough to float you (especially you are a big dude).

Check out the Helium SWAT vest, which is CGA approved. I have worn this for several years. Lots of compliments and most people think it is a comp vest.

Edit: There are numerous sites with that vest much cheaper.

I ride with a Helium SWAT USCG approved and it comes all the way down to my shorts.
