    New Tige Owner

I bought a 1997 Pre2150 about a month ago. Has 215 hours on it. The guy has really taken very good care of it. Only things I had to do was: packing, oil and filters, changed out 4 guages due to bezels falling off. Finally found a tower that I really liked and naturally they quit making it. So now I get to look some more. Since summer is basically here probably going to be my winter project. Here is a picute I took last weekend after a fresh wax.

Congrats and welcome to TO! That is a clean looking boat. There are lots of good towers out there, give us a price range and we can help you narrow down your search. Of course if money is no object most would agree that Samson makes one of the nicest towers out there.

Anyone have that year ? What am I in for? Runs nice but really low top speed (34) mph, with 5.7 and 13 inch 13 degree three bladed prop? Normal? Manuals?

The guy still had all the original paperwork for the boat and the trailer. I was really shocked to find it in such good shape plus got it for a steal of a price.

Far as the tower goes was trying to stay in the 1K +- range. Samson makes a nice tower but come with a nice price tag too. Also trying to see if I can modify the existing bimni to save the $3-800 on a new one.

WOW, clean and low hours. I have an 09 and I am pushing 200 hours. Make sure to check seals and other things that could be a problem from sitting. Dry-rot tires etc. I am sure others can post things to check for and look at. However, it does look like it was taken care of. Great find!

Wow - minus the canopy this is exactly the same as my old boat! Ours road like a champ for 15 years!

Nice find. They are great boats. One the best surfing D-Drives around. Congrats.

A nice tower is worth every penny. It's something you only want to do once so, get the one you really want. A crappy tower is something you will regret everytime you put the boat on the water. Personally, I would save up for that Samson.

One thing you won't regret is an FAE. Especially in a D-Drive. Must have IMO.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Whats the advantage in having that exauht system? Ive pulled behind my brothers 21i for years now. Your right on the tower Im only doing it once. Going to run this summer without it and make that my winter project so Im not rushing it.

If you will surf with the boat, get the FAE...if you have more questions, don't take my word, go here..

They have done actual real time unbias tests. CO is a real safety hazzard IN the boat at low speeds like the ones you keep while surfing. If you're like us, the boat is usually full is kids which are my real concern. If you don't plan on surfing, then probalby not required.

Nice boat by the way....great find.

When the say FAE, they mean Fresh Air Exhaust, an aftermarket kit that send the exhaust down below the water line. Reduces noise and CO.

Good boat. I used to sell Tige in the 90's, and this was the first real big boat. Careful nosing into rollers, as you will take a butt load of water over the bow...

Nice wake for boarding. I havent seen the surf wake on them after ballast yet. Post some pics of your wake at 11 mph.
