Best Wakesurf setup for Z3 with Surf Ballast?

My best friend and I just picked up our new Z3 with the Surf Ballast Option (600lb rear sacks w/400lb u-shape bow sack). I'm starting to learn how to wakesurf, but I'm having a little trouble getting the wake set up right. I ride left foot forward on the port side of the boat. Any suggestions for ballast set up, boat speed, TAPS setting?

Yeah I definitely saw this thread a couple weeks ago. Lots of good info, but ragboy's got the pro ballast option. He's got two 400lb sacs up front, whereas the surf ballast option on my boat only has one 400lb u-shaped sac.

Anybody tried surfing with this option?

Actually, the pro ballast has 2 500 lb sacs up from for 1000 total. Try filling surf corner stock all the way, other side to 50% then filling up the front, than add like 200-300 lbs of people to the front. If that works, get a fat brick or 2 to fill the gap from stock to pro. That should work well.

As far as list goes, the Z3 has this magic angle around 8-9 degrees with stock weight, a bit more with extra weight. If you are listed over too little, there is like a cut in the wake, and you list over more until the face is solid, curl is pushed back and lip at top is solid. If you go over too much, then you start to see a double lip in the wake, which you also don't want. You can see this happen before your eyes if you get the boat real close and then move people back and forth to see it.

See how the face is solid, no cuts or double lip, and the curl is back and high?

I finally found a setup this weekend that worked in my z3 with the surf ballast that allowed me to go wireless. Port side rear 100%, 400lb fat sac under port rear stock sac 100%, 700lb fat sac just in front of rear port sac (under port seat) 100%, another 400lb fat sac on the port rear seat 100%, and the front ballast sac between 75% & 100%, starboard ballast sitting at 0%. This worked great with my wife driving (120ish, don't tell her I said that ) & my 4yr old sitting where ever she sees fit for the moment. Hope this helps.
