    easiest thing I did today

Besides getting out of bed the easiest thing I did today was put a new steering cable in the boat. It took just under 2 hours and I even re routed it over the fuel tank. I'm glad I read the how to section on here for steering cables other wise I would have paid the dealer $1000 (that is what they quoted me) but it cost me $170 instead YEEHAW!!!!!!!

Great job. Can't believe a dealer wanted that price. Absured!

Yeah it is a great feeling not only saving the cash but doing it your self as well when you do the little things it gives more confidence to move on to bigger jobs. I have done so much to this boat myself and intend on doing more, it also lets you know everything about your boat as you crawl around and look in places usually left unseen

I just replaced mine this weekend too. It was easy, just time consuming in the fact I wasn't sure of how everything came apart. I didn't route over tank, but followed the original routing. My dealer quoted $200 plus three hours labor. I found the new teleflex cable online for $144! I suckered a couple buddies to help, so saved myself some cash too! This forum is amazing in the fact you can figure out any problem with wonderful peoples help!!!
