    2011 RZR or 2011 X2

Alright team ... I'm in a dilemma ... I have the option of buying a new 2011 RZR or a new 2011 Mastercraft X2 for the same price (actually MC is about $2k cheaper!) They have comparable features and both have the touch screens ... the MC has the power tower w/ tower speakers and bimini. The MC has a 320 hp and Tige has a 343.

I've been told that the MC is not a very smooth ride but I wanna know more aobut it than that.

Anyone have any input on what they would do ... I know this is a Tige forum but I want honest "unbiased" opionions ... if possible! ha

    Thanks!

Drive them both the same day you will find the right boat. www.boattest.com you will need more gas money in the MC.

Test them both the same day! I can not stress that enough!

The Tige has a better warranty, Service included, and a bigger motor.

The thing is ... MC has their private lake close by so I will not get to experience the choppy water and how the boat will handle in a bigger lake. So it will probably appear smooth and appear to handle well.

MC is the only brand boat I would never buy...

After ordering my 2012 RZR, a buddy started thinking about selling his 04 XSTAR. He really liked all the pics I sent him of the RZR but felt more comfortable with MC, having owned one.

We went and demo'd a X2 and a RZR back to back. In both of our opinions the RZR rode a little better, definitely handled better, similar slalom and wakeboard wake, etc. the surf wake is another story though...it's not even close. The RZR blew it away. I'll post the quick video I shot of each in a few.

The RZR was a little quieter, mostly due to the X2's billet windscreen that rattles like crazy. They both seemed to have plenty of power, though I wonder if the X2 is underpowered and thus the reason for higher fuel consumption. The X2's motor did have a meaner, throatyier sound to it.

The interior of the X2 was nice and clean, but I liked the Tige better. I definitely like the abundance of cup holders in the RZR (20) and the 2 built in coolers.

He's right you need to demo both boats before you make a decision on either one. I was between A SAN210 and a Tige....long story short I went with the Tige 22Ve because is felt like a much better boat all around. Good luck with whatever you decide...this is the fun part of buying a boat!!

Here's the videos I shot from my phone of the 2 boats surf wake. The water was really bad for both demos. I think its pretty safe to say that my buddy hadn't seen a Tige wake surf wake when he said, "That's impressive!"

Ask the dealers to agree to meet you at a nearby lake of your choosing. If they really think their boat is equal to or better than the competition, they should have no problem agreeing to a back-to-back comparison test drive. If they want the sale, I would expect them to go for it as long as you aren't asking them to drive a long distance to your choice of lake.

Ya make the MC dealer take you to a rough water lake. Your buying it test it how you want, not how they want you too. if they say no then you have your clear choice.

When we demoed Tige it was at the dealers private lake. So we did a ton of power turns and what not and destroyed the water as much as possible and drove over countless rollers. If its a small lake it should be super easy to destroy the water and test the rough water ride.

As mentoned th x2 is going to have a horrible surf wave so if surfing is really important go RZR. The x2 wakeboarding wake is also pretty wide considering it is a 20ft boat. So if you have kids this could come into play as it will be harder for them to nail that w2w jump.

If its a tough choice the bigger engine in the Tige would seal the deal for me.

Disclaimer. Our choice came down to an X25 and the RZ2. If money wasnt a factor at all the MC would have probably been our choice. The RZ2 just ended up being the perfect blend of styling, options and price.

                          Ha! Ya, not impressive.

What is the dealer talking about when he says,"Your boat is a one dimensional boat?"
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

He was talking about my buddy's 04 XSTAR, saying that it is basically a wake boarding boat.

I agree with others on this thread. The Tige hull will produce a better surf wake.
