I just ordered a 2012 RZR over the mastercraft X2.
    Reasons:
    surf wake is superior
    More ballast from factory
2012 mc x2 has dividers in bow eliminates the u bag. (less bow weight)
Rzr can be ordered w 2 bags up front 200lbs each that can be swapped out for 2 400lbs bags.
    Wetsounds system is superior
Rzr offers better value for money!

When I was boat shopping I had the pleasure of test driving an X45 on a prestine tiny lake too. Three things turned me away from MC, the price, the noise and the dealer. I can't stand a loud boat. I can't see any logical reason why the X2 would be "smoother" in rought water.....seems like an unmerited jab at Tige.

One of the biggest expenses of owning a boat is fuel cost. You will save well over the 2000 difference in the 360 service and fuel alone. Not to mention the surf wake was easily obtained on the Tige whereas you were still searching on the X2.The rough water ride will also be better on the Tige, but only you can decide which fits your needs the best.Good luck!

let me put this plainly, the wakeboard wake is huge on the rzr considering its a 20 footer.

ive seen the wake on an x-2 (never ridden)and it was um, small

this is the wake on our RZR, stock, with surf ballast and 2 people, 22 mph and taps at 4

im 6'1 and its almost to my knee...

I had the same problem last fall when i was buying a new boat, I had rode behind an x-2 (wakebaord and surf) but not the RZR. I did own a tige previous. I gambled on the RZR as it was too late in the year to test drive. I made the right move, you wont get a surf wave like this out of an x-2 no matter what you do...I know that for a fact. I made the right move. First pic is stock ballast 3 people, second pic is 4 people and an extra 400lbs sac.

Test them both the same day! I can not stress that enough!

The Tige has a better warranty, Service included, and a bigger motor.
I believe as stated the RZR comes with both an excellent warranty and three years basic maintenance while the R20 does not include maintenance unless this has changed recently.:

Alright everyone ... I'm test driving the MC X2 in the AM ... what should I be looking for and ask about? The owner of the dealership is the one doing the demo ...

I get to demo the RZR on Wednesday ... I'm stoked!

Make sure you ride it in rough choppy water and do power turns both ways.

I mentioned loud as in engine purrrr (noise), can't stand engine noise but FAE takes care of that problem...as for music noise....we've got our boat back to the original condition Tim White left it (freaken loud).....and it sounds so gooooood! Ms. Nobody can't stop dancing. I'll take a picture of the amp section, some are double stacked. 7 amps in all with one of them an original HP2 Hertz.

We owned a MC X2 for 2 seasons and we just traded it in and bought an RZ2. We have always loved Mastercraft boats (for as long as I can remember), but when we started getting more serious with surfing, we realized that we were severely handicapping ourselves with the MC. As hard as we tried, adding ballast in every possible combination, we simply could not get a good surf wake out of the Mastercraft. I then demoed a number of other MC boats, to see which one would give us the surf wake we wanted. We kept demoing and demoing the MC boats (X25, X35, X45, etc), until one day a friend of mine took us out in his RZ2. It took about 10 minutes to figure out that we needed to get the Tige. Mastercraft builds a great quality boat with a killer interior, but their hulls simply don't produce a good surf wake (not even close). In addition, the MC towers are absolutely horrible. Anyway, if surfing is even remotely a priority for you, don't even look at MC boats. Tige is the way to go.
