Hey johnb.-- What made you decide to go with Malibu? I assume you're getting the 247. Thanks.

      Dan,

I was originally drawn to the amenities of the boat ... I like the dash, I like the Malibu cruise control, the "feel" of the interior, and the overall "bling" factor. I kept trying to be level headed about the decision, and I even went back to take a second look at the 24V, but when all is said and done, I spend a lot of time IN the boat and the Malibu interior hooked me. Yes, Tiges are built like tanks, but I baby my boat, and I'm confident that the Malibu will hold up just fine with how we use our boat.

I had a concern about the wake for surfing until I found this link:

      Malibu 247 Wake

I'm not too worried about it anymore.

Finally, my family overwhelmingly wants the Malibu. Maybe it's just so it really feels like a "new" boat to us ... both boats are great boats, and I agree with those on the boards that have chastised someone for calling Tiges budget boats ... Tige has a great product. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience with our 01 23V.

I pulled the trigger today ... boat should be here Mid Feb.

      Merry Christmas, everyone!

            John,

Congrats on the purchase. That's a great Christmas gift for you and the family.

I have put my boat purchase on hold until Jan. Too much going on with work and the holidays. I will be back in "full boat mode" in a few weeks and hopefully have the decision made right after so she's ready for spring time!

            MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

If some of you folks want to give money away I'll take it and call you also. As far as wiping the boat down, everyone does it, especially at Elsinore.
As far as price you can do much better at other locations. Don't forget they have all of So. Calif, South of Bakersfield so you think you are captured. Your are not. I too did not have a good experience with them. I'll just leave it at that. Others have told me that they will purchase their boat elsewhere next time. I just suggest that next time you are ready to purchase a TIGE, look around to other locations and you may find a much better purchase all the way around and then again maybe not. I did!

                    Thanks Matt!

Tom, Daniel, Chris, and the gang at Tige Watersports will be hard to beat ... but I have most of my service done by Mike Boggs in Riverside where I store my boat so I'll just hope for a boat that doesn't "need" to go back to the dealer much, though I think they also have a good reputation. Time will tell.

WOW both of my posts on this thread have been removed. Why are you trying to protect tige water sports? Look I’m happy that some people have had a good experience with them but I did not get the same treatment and I now have proof that I’m not the only one. Like I said at first it looked like they would do any thing for me but as soon as I started to ask some questions about how they operate, they did a 180 on me. This is a very competitive industry and if they can’t handle it they need to get out. I feel that any one can sell a Tige, the boats are that good, and that is why they do so well in corona. There is so much money in so cal and they are the only dealer to provide Tige’s. Every other manufacturer in the area seem to say nothing but good things about each other but no one liked the guys in corona and I didn’t understand at first why this was until I started dealing with them. I truly feel that if you got rid of some of the guys in corona, they would sell even more boats than to do now and become truly the # 1 Tige dealers in the world. If any thing you should try to protect the Tige boat name not the people who sell the boats, in fact I feel the guys in corona are giving Tige a bad name.

I think they are the #1 Tige' selling dealer in the world. I think the So. Cal. market is a highly discriminating market. This is a competitive place to sell anything! We are not a bunch of rich guys ready to throw money at the only dealer we find. I believe any one of us would drive to No. Cal., Vegas or AZ to purchase our boats from another dealer, if we thought we were being taken advantage of. The other boat manufacturer's dealers are not fond of Tige' Watersports in Corona because they outsell them on a consistent basis, my guess is , by alot! That's my 2 cents for postage.

                          I can't resist...

We looked at darn near every boat dealer in So Cal as we were doing our initial research. Master Craft (Cal Skier), Correct Craft in Norco, MB Sports in Long Beach and then Elsinore, Malibu and Tige. We also ventured into the Chaparral and Crownline dealers to make sure we didn't want to return to the deck boat market.

The only two dealers that did not...hear that again...did not...talk bad about the other boats and dealers was MB Sports and Tige. They emphasized the features of their boat and answered questions. They even answered the questions that they had no doubt heard a million times from the other dealers about supposed manufacturing problems with Tige and all the other spin that is in the market. Many of them simply had their facts wrong as it related to other boats...but sure knew everything about their own line.

Master Craft, Correct Craft and Malibu all had something to say with no hesitation about virtually all the other competitors and Tige was often number one on the list to discuss...especially since at some point in the discussion Tige was becoming one of the contenders for our ultimate purchase. Even as we did on the water demos, the other brand that we went out on the lake in had some "stuff" to say about Tige who was showing up after our ride.

I wouldn't defend Tige Water Sports if I didn't think they did a superior job during our entire sales cycle. We were welcomed and never felt pressure. My questions were answered. I didn't get any surprises as the process went forward. There was no nickel and diming me as the deal neared completion. In fact, I would say they were fair, and went above and beyond to meet our expectations.

Our boat rocks and I am very satisfied with the product at this point. Tige as a company did an excellent job putting together our boat and for that matter all the rigging, stereo and dealer installed options like the tower turned out much better than I could have expected. Chris was great to deal with and spent significant time with my wife and I to answer questions. Daniel was very good to work with and was very professional the whole way through the deal.

In the grand scheme of things, "this horse will get no deader."

By the way, G-Money, I assume that you are referencing G-Man as the other member on the boards that was unhappy with the Tige Watersports folks. Just looking at the two names, is there any relationship there?

                          Regards...wrangler

I can see that the two names are close but there is no! relationship between me and gman and you are not the first to suggest that because of our dislike for corona. It could be possible that that I’m not the only one who had a bad experience??? Like I said I wish I could have gotten the same treatment like you but I did not, and it’s easy to defend someone if you never saw the side that I did. I’m just telling like it is and I feel other people should know that’s all. I stand behind Tige 110% but not the corona salesmen! Like you said the only other dealership the did not talk bad about anyone was mb sports everyone ells that knows corona dislikes them you said that your self

“Tige was often number one on the list to discuss”

                            The #1!!!!!!
                            Doesn’t that tell you something?

I feel the only reason that MB sports and Jon Keep its mouth shout is the fact that they are new to the I. E (909) (951) they just moved from Long beach.

And yes your boat rocks it looks great like I said before anyone can sell a Tige the boats are just that good and I’m sure the service department in corona is good as well but Chris and Daniel ruined my experience and I will not take my boat to corona because of them.

I live smack in the middle of the OC I know people are more willing to get instant gratification and pay a little more then have to drive all over the place to save some money. That is how it is and that is how I am, and for that reason corona out sells everyone. When I want something I want it now! But this time I tried something different and it paid off big time, about $6000+ So next time look around because I had a chance to choose from two different places to save that type of money, TWO!!

                              Thanks...

G-Money...thanks for the reply and glad you were able to get a great deal. As I mentioned in my post, I don't think this horse will be beat to death any more than it already is. I'm not trying to start a cyber brawl by any stretch.

When I mentioned that Tige was often number one on the list, it wasn't the dealership that the other dealers bagged on, it was the brand. As a matter of fact, the MCraft dealer paid Corona a back handed compliment by intimating that the only reason you see so many Tiges around here is because the Corona guys do a good job of marketing them and they aren't as prevelent in other parts of the country...the thinking being that MasterCraft is everywhere and I would want to follow the national pack and go with MC...

I think the reason that the MB Sports folks don't talk smack about others and focus on their boats is that the local dealership is a very Christian outfit with great morals. They do a great job of not getting into why other brands don't match up...but instead focus on why they think MB is a great brand from the factory on down to the components on the boat.

In the grand scheme of things, it's unfortunate that your experience wasn't as good as mine but I'm glad we both ended up with Tiges... thanks and enjoy that boat!!! wrangler

Out of curiosity, where did your Tige from? And where do you service it now? Warranty work?
