Is the entire raised fiberglass carpeted section under passenger/spotter compartment safe to drill into. Also what size screws should be used. The area im talking about is the same area factory mounts the amps. Just want some reassurance before I mount down amps. Your much appreciated

It was in 08, I used the screws that came with the amps. They have about a 1/2" of penetration.

Wet sounds doen't send screws probably so they aren't responsible for someones misfortune of screwing thru their boat, thanks for your input

Yes on the walkthrough side there is about a 2'x3' panel under the carpet, on mine anyway.

Yes, that area with the glassed-in composite board is exactly where the amps, etc can go. A 1" screw will give you about .75" bit by time you add in the thickness of the amp frame and carpet. Also, bringing the amp off the carpet with some stand-offs allows for added ventilation. The rubber feet used for door stops work well.
