    new decals

Well I would like to say thanks to the guys who helped out on the decal removal question I had posted. I ended up using a heat gun and rubbing off as much residue as I could with my finger got a nice blister to prove it lol. With the left over residue I used rubbing alcohol which worked awesome, the decal guy told me to try it. I then used rubbing compoundto strip the old wax off as he said the decal would stick better doing this instead of waxing then putting the new ones on. Anyways heres what I started with and whay I ended up with the only thing missing that will bring it together are the registration numbers coming soon. So as of now on the 2005 I bought 3.5 months ago I have redone the swim step and re decaled it and more to come!!!!!!!!!

Love the swim platform. We spent years and countless hours oiling the teak on our old 21V RE. I'm so excited for a low maintenance fiberglass splatform on the new Z3.

Dont take this personally but I've never bee a fan of decals on boats period. I think the original simple silver decals were best (although IMHO I'd prefer it with nothing but transom Tige logo and the 22V on the port and starboard sides if absolutely necessary). One of my favorite boats is our friends Mastercraft Maristar 210V that is completely debadged save for a simple Mastercraft logo on each is and the rear. Is the exact same hull as an X10 with none of the gaudy flare and all the class. It almost looks like a runabout from as distance until it goes by and its wake nearly washes over the sides of your boat lol.

I know we're all proud of our boats but I've always hated the wave of obnoxious wakeboard boat graphics that started ~10 years ago with Mastercraft and Supra.

When we ordered our Z3 I fought desperately not to have any of the Flex decal graphics on it. In the end we settled for having the rear Vector graphics out on at the factory. I'm secretly hoping that we'll remove them and have nothing but the logo on each side near the transom and the transom logo.

Personally, rather than have a boat with graphics so loud you can tell what it is from across the lake, I'd rather have something subtle that will cause other boaters to come a little closer and have a better look. Then we can offer them a ride or surf or something. We've made some good friends that way and a few new tige owners along the way!

The new graphics look great! I especially enjoy the pretty lady in the bottle! How much teak oil did U end up using? I just redid mine and after a lot of sanding and completely removing the brackets it drank 3 quarts! There's a few pics of the transformation on my page. Have fun on the lake this summer! I can't wait to get on the water!

Ps where did u get that cover? I was looking for one that I can use for mooring...

I would love to upgarde to to a fiber glass swim platform but too much $$$ so Ill just maintain the teak which does look nice when taken care of. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and the origanals were alright but the ones on the other side were damaged and looked crappy so I thought id go with an more updated look I found a style of font that I liked and used it. I had to have something since I myself am not a fan of plain boats

Yeah I had to leave my genie in a bottle lol. I sanded the crap out of it do get it looking good and then I used Linseed oil I only used about A half liter which I was suprised at since it was in rough shape to start but now that its in good shpe Ill be oiling it regularly. Yours looked as bad as mine did but yours looks good now. Now we'll have to keep up on it so they stay looking great. You nejoy the wter as well ill be out this up coming weekend YAY
