    MAJORLY PISSED

I really need some advice here on cleaning. Well, long story short. I rent a garage from a friend of mines home to put my 20v in during the off season. I own two tiges so only one fits in my garage. Well, my "friend" decided that he wanted to put his car in the garage and leave my boat outside during the rainy winter... I usually fake a lake my boat once a month to keep things in check but hadnt checked on my 20v for a couple months... so, my boat sat outside, uncovered, in the rain and mist for 3 months!!!! I have never in my life been so angry at someone, EVER. First off I towed it to my house and fake a laked it. The engine and components are fine but the upholstery is not. I cannot beleive the mildew. Have never seen something so bad. What in the hell can I use to get this stuff off? My 20v looked new when I parked it in that garage and now.. im PISSED

The best mildew cleaner I have used is Dura-Gloss 541 Mildew Buster. Wet the vinyl, spray it down, let it sit a few minutes, scrub it with a medium brush and then rinse well and let dry.

    Good luck!

Comet Liquid Gel and a brush. But you need to have the water hose on and ready cuz its really aggresive and you want to wash it off asap but it gets that nasty nasty mold mildew out.

Sorry to hear that, feelin for ya...no free rides for that guy this summer I bet!

I used soft scrub (the white and green bottle- not the gel) and a scrub brush to clean up the seats in my old boat which had some mildew and I was pretty amazed at the results. I don't think my interior had ever looked so good!

Let me get this straight... You RENT a garage from this guy to keep your boat dry and he then parks your boat out in the weather? Not only would he not be going out on my boat this summer, but I would be getting a major refund! I agree with Chpthrl, the mildew remover works well. Good luck

I just use bleach. Yea Yea Yea....I know.

I had something similar done. Went to Japan for 2 weeks and let my friend redo the 2nd shower. Complete gut and included sinking the floor 4". Came back and the guy didn't drape the area. Concrete dust EVERYWHERE.

Does anybody know how to remove concrete dust?

            Friends, Huh!

If using products like soft scrub and comet you need to be aware that they have bleach products in them and can ruin upholstery very quickly. Like a previous post stated have the water hose running and rinse it quickly after scrubbing. I hate it that this happened to you and it looks like a new storage is in order. Surprised you still call him a friend. He sounds like a con taking your money and then not delivering with what was paid for. During the three months it was sitting outside did you ever go by your "friends" house or talk to him over the phone. My boat is in storage and I go up and check on the storage unit and the boat at least weekly just to make sure everything is still locked and the boat is still like it is supposed to be.

Sounds like you got some good advice.
I like Knights Spray Nine cleaner (all purpose cleaner) Spray on dry upholstery and brush/scrub clean...rince off. This stuff cleans everything.
                Best of luck.

we had similar misfortune when we stored the boat outside and left the plug in (yep - real stoopid) and after 4 mos had over 40 gals sitting. the inside was a BIG mess and totally covered w mildew and mold. We used Publix Mildew Remover and it worked great. Does a great job and does not seem to hurt the vinyl since we use all the time now. its cheap too. Sold at Publix Supermarkets and not in CA. Stuff contains 2.25% sodium hypochlorite which is soda bleach and same stuff in one of the Tilex products. Might be others. we keep a spray bottle onboard and extra on the dock. works real well. good luck

Just be careful with the bleach products. Between those and magic eraser I erased myself into a new interior. I now only use it if it says vinyl safe. The sun will take most of it away, just takes a little longer. I feel for you.

Just hose it with fresh water for the concrete dust, DO NOT WIPE IT.

I bet you have one less friend now? We use Fantastic, it was recomended by our dealer and works great. We use it sparely and only to remove stains. Sometimes, if the boat sits in storage for a few weeks or months with non-use we have minor mildew built up and this stuff takes it right off. Your application seems much more severe though.

                              Magic Erasers

                              Hi All,

I am new to this forum and Tige but not to boating. I have had great success with Magic Erasers in the past and have not had any ill effects. I guess if you pressed too hard you could cause some damage but I have found that all in all nothing works as good as these do. Have other had a different experience with them?
