From the FAQ's of the Tige' website -

What is the origin of the name “Tigé”?
During the early 1990s Tigé looked to differentiate itself by creating a one-of-a-kind name that embodied quality, performance and uniqueness – qualities inherent to the Tigé product. The decision was made to base the name on the word Tiger, the childhood nickname of the company’s founder, Charlie Pigeon. By dropping the “r” and adding an accent over the “é”, the name originated with a European flair that complimented the flowing, euro-design of the company’s first boat models and further differentiated the brand from the competition.

At least at Havazoo....I haven't seen much in the way of Tiges or Malibus etc... with names. All the thongs, bongs and pillar of salt crowd seem to name their boats...hmmmm....I'll make sure not to name my boat I guess...
