2004 switch 20v handling

I bought a used 2004 20v last winter and took it out for the first time last week. Everything works great but when the speed gets above 30 mph it starts to porpoise regardless of the position of the TAPS. Is this normal?

How many people are in the boat, and where were they positioned? What was the condition of the lake?

Basically, wanting to know how the boat was weighted.

Are you sure that the plate was down just because the guage indicated that it was?

Im with Dom, need to confirm the plate is actually moving up and down. If all works like it should, I would think about adding about a thin block between the actuator and plate. This will place the edge of the plate down just a little further then before. Maybe try 1/4 - 3/8.

x3. Plate isn't working right. Might be low on fluid. Check that first.

I have a 2004 Switch V and had the same issue when I first got the boat.
That answer for me was t add a ¼” shim between the ram and the plate. This made a huge difference in the boat. Also to answer your question, NO the boat should not propos at any speed is that taps is set correctly. I top out (WOT) at 47 mph and don’t have this issue.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I need to "experiment" with some TAPS shims.
