Just get out as much as possible. Landed 5 total gainers out of 140+ attempts on the Sky Ski last summer behind the old I/O. Want to get consistent on those and then work on landing them on my offside. Then it is on to wake rolls.

Can't wait to actually ride behind a decent inboard boat that has cruise and doesn't get pulled side to side with every cut.

I plan on getting my 2yr old and 4yr old boys up on the wakeboard without any assistance. We tried to get them up towards the end of last summer, starting in the water and it really didn't work all that well. We were able to get them up by sliding them off the swim deck with me sitting on the swim deck and holding their front boot.

This was the first and only try last year. They actually did much better later on in the day but we ran out of room on the GoPro SD card.

We got both of the boys up this past weekend but the water was too cold so after they fell, they were done!

My 2yr old at the end of the video kept saying, 'Wanna crash daddy, wanna crash." He thought wake boarding was all about crashing! When I got him up this past Saturday he almost immediately started bouncing (I guess trying to jump or do a trick since he watches Defy about 5-6 times a week now!).

-Get my (responsible)17 year old daughter totally confident at docking boat in slip so she can take slow cruises with her pals on the lake. (I'll still be boat driver for any tubing/surfing/boarding runs....)
-Learn how to change the impeller on my 07 24ve
-Standing Thursday night kids/boat/outing date for whomever wants to come

I LOVE doing this, and it has produced some of the biggest smiles yet seen on little faces behind our boat. My weight limit seems to be around 100 pounds, though. I tried it with a friend's 5th grader and we could not let go of the rope, the drag was just too great on our boards.

To be able to afford gas in the boat. Nothing big. LOL.

I hope to teach my fiancé to trailer, drive and dock the boat.

My personal goals are to #1 stay healthy! I missed all of July last year with a rib injury. #2 is to finally clear the wake switch heel side.

Your gonna need to be patient with that one.

I already enrolled her in a girls only boating class that's supposed to touch on all those things. I'm really hoping it helps a ton. Patience isn't my strong suit so I'm preparing for some bumps in the road.

If my wife can do it, anybody's significant other can. She won't touch backing the boat down the ramp, but has no problem with me launching her or her trailering the boat. Truth be told, She's way better at it (trailering) than me.

I think you meant to say, "bumps in the head" right?

Nobody's signifigant other can't, but I'll work on it this year. She rammed the boat into the dock last year and wigged out, I didn't react which gave her the confidence to do it again. I was going to paint the hull this spring but thought I'd better wait one more season and let her get more practice ramming things.

Girls don't understand there are no brakes.

My ex copped ant additude when ever it came to loading or unloading the boat or docking. I guess that's why she is an ex. And I was so patient about it with her.

                                Docking:
-Beer helps--(for you that is) while you are teaching her
-Have her practice coming up to/docking to a NO WAKE buoy--or throw a life preserver out into water and have her practice docking to that. Approach from different angles to see how wind affects the boat, how it reverses backs up towards 5 O'clock, and how/when to slow down. After a lot of that, the dock or slip aren't so bad.
-Show her how to tap it into/back out of gear for the small/minute adjustments. Those "pop-pop-pop" in/out of gear and the lag it takes to get the boat moving were my 'ah ha moments" of slow speed docking.

                                Trailering:
-Go to big empty parking lot and show her how while backing up to put her hand on the bottom of the steering wheel to move the 'butt of the boat' the direction she wants it to go.
-Then teach her how to go back forward to straighten it out if it isn't right, then re-start backing up.
-When putting into the the water, at first I would back down to water, get in boat, start up etc, then she would drive the empty trailer to park. Now she can semi-sorta back it down.
-When taking out of the water/onto the trailer--my wife gets the boat close, I back trailer down to the water, get the winch strap out, then she gets the boat halfway onto the trailer. Then I winch it in vs. her trying to drive it in. It's easier to make sure the lifting strakes are on the bunks that way.
-I also confirm that she turns the engine off. FAE makes it so quiet it I have to remind her.

One of my favorite memories from last summer was after a week in Okoboji, I drove the trailer a mile over to the ramp on East Lake while she drove the boat over from West Lake to the ramp at 6:30am. Perfect glass empty calm lake--and I watched her from the shore doing full speed passes, then u-turns and S-Turns out in the middle of the lake. The was sun glinting off the windsheild and the water, I couldn't hear anything, not a soul in sight except her doing something she never does or wants me to do when we have guests.

I asked how the boat ran when she (finally) got to the ramp and she just smiled and said, "Really nice. That was fun"
