Seeing as how this thread has achieved its goal and the fact you started it, I guess its cool to head off topic.
I have the O'neill Throttle. It's few years old now and haven't used it for a while so, I'm not sure how identical it would be to a new one. It's a pretty nice suit though. I does let just a little water in through the neck but, I'd rather have that than bring choked all the time. So long as you don't dive in or take any headers, it works great. Great for surfing. I also have gloves, booties and a hood. I can ride Tahoe in the winter if I want.
The price was right on it too. I think I paid $170. I would also buy anything made by Nevin. Super nice stuff. I know when I was shopping for that stuff, Nevin was making all the wet stuff for the Navy Seals. I bought some Nevin gloves and the are super dope. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

We installed our FAE system last Friday and ran the boat most of the weekend. AWESOME upgrade. You guys/gals are going to love the difference it makes. Much quieter, no fumes, happy wife and louder tunes. We found out that the FAE is also a conversation starter on the ramp amongst other boaters.
The only issue we had was settling on the "Z" measurement after the boat was ran for a few hours. The "Z" measurement is the distance b/t the center of the prop shaft and the bottom of the FAE unit. To adjust it up/down you end up moving the angle of the FAE unit in/out. Mine kicked out quiet a bit at first and you could tell when the exhaust became more pronounced. The hose clamps and rubber need to settle in and this movement will be common during the break in period. Take a socket wrench with you during your first few hours and expect to readjust and tighten the clamps back down.
I wondered which was more critical...the "Z" measurement or keeping the angle of the FAE b/t 0 and 15 deg. I talked with Larry over the weekend and he said the recommended 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inch "Z" measurement is more or less aesthetic and is a measurement which they have found to be optimal. It isn't critical to the performance but the smaller the "Z" measurement (or even neg. "Z") the greater the chance for prop spray. He also said that on some boats the FAE will naturally move into its own angle no matter how tight you snug everything down. Short of using self-tapping screws at the joints, I'm not sure you can ever keep the FAE downpipe section from rotating a bit. Not a big deal...just a little heads up that might help some.
I've got a '03 22V with a Merc 5.7L. I'd love to see what someone else found to be the best final angle and "Z" measurement for a similar setup. New thread maybe?
