    2000 Riders Edition 21V

    Hello All,

I am seriously considering buying a 2000 Tige 21V Riders Edition. I have a few questions to anyone out there that has a 2000 or similar model year 21V.

1.) How flat can you get the wake for slalom skiing purposes?

2.) Does anyone out there have it without ballast? How is the wake with just the TAPS system and no ballast?

3.) What problems have you had with your boat?

4.) Do you need perfect pass when pulling wakeboarders at slower speeds?

I am open to any and all comments (positive and negative). I appreciate everyone's feedback!

    1. It is a V drive and while the wake is not huge, it is not DD wake. I have seen much worse, but seen better too.
    2. I just got one 400 lb bag last year for surfing. For wakeboarding, my son can do all kinds of invert tricks with no ballast. His friends with allkinds of other boats think we have the best wake around.
    3. Nothing major. Replace the impeller once per year. Have replaced the alternator, starter and one injector, but other than that, the biggest problem our boats had was the first generation tower. They were not really stable, and have a tendedcy to crack.
    4. You will want PP for whatever you do. Greatest invention ever. Your riders will love you for it.

We have had ours since 2002 and still absolutely love it. Takes rough water better than ANY boat I have ever owned. Is very comfortable and safe with the high freeboard and seat bottoms. Lots of storage, great wake, we can surf wireless with no ballast. Ballast just makes it even better. These boats are built like tanks. When I cut the hole in the hull for my PP, it was almost 3/4 of an inch thick. If it has been cared for, you will get a great boat. Not near as fancy as the new ones, but not near as expensive either and just as functional. Good luck and give us more details. We love to give opinions.

My 2000 has only broken once. Fuel pump went out. Other than that, I replaced the steering cable. That can be chalked up to maintenance though. All steering cables go bad sooner or later. Other than that its bone stock besides regular maintenance and upgrades (tower, stereo, prop, FAE, ballast). I've owned it since early 2001. Never had PerfectPass and have always gotten along fine. Would I like to have it? Sure. Can I boat without it? Obviously.

Thanks for your feedback, guys! It really looks like a clean and well cared for boat. I have heard great things about Tige so I am hoping that I can make this happen.
