The upgrades have begun!

Need more sound in the bow, what's your opinion of the JL Audio M400/4 wired 200 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode @ 2 ohm (parallel) using the JL 7.7's??
Having a separate amp gives us the ability to turn it up or down with the optional remote????

Thats a 4 chnl amp, so wiring a single pair to it would just be 200W x 2, nothing wired in parallel.

1) im not a fan of mixing different speaker brands in close proximity. Each speaker designer has a unique signature sound. In many cases, this can be heard.

2) I would explore the bow setup you have currently. You may just need more power to what you have.

3) if you think you have a spot that will fit a JL 7.7, there might be something coming soon that will not only be close to the 7.7 in size, depth and mounting cut out (dont have any specs, just speaking in general) but may match the look and sound of what you have in the boat already.

Mike, I really appreciate your advice on this one. The Boat is louder than hell in the rear but the bow is just lame. I believe you are referring to a new WetSounds product?? If so, this would be GREAT news.

I agree with Mike, I wouldn't mix in boat speakers. Wet Sounds has a new 8" speaker that should be here soon that will apparently have the ability to mount the tweeter as either a traditional coax or as a separate component.

As far as a separate amp and volume control for the bow, I think that is a great idea. I did the JL M200/2 with the RLC and it worked out great. I love having the ability to separately adjust the volume of the bow speakers. When my kids are in the bow I usually just turn them all the way down. If no one is in the bow I will typically turn them up quite a bit. You can hear very well from the captain's chair since they are aimed back towards the cabin.

Your audio setup and upgrades look great. Can't wait to see it when done. But inb hindsight are the upgrades ever done? You have great ideas that would look great in any RZR or even a R20.
