Not sure if my Aunt ships boats or not but you can try contacting her:

If you call, ask for Rae Ann and tell her that "Timmy" sent you. She's been in business for 24 years.

Hey Timmy I had them ship a 68 camaro from Ct. to Ok. and I believe she is the one I talked to setting it up.

Try U-Ship it. When I was looking to ship a boat from Id. to Ok. I checked them out. It is a site that drivers bid on your load. Might be a good deal for you.

I use getloaded.com as a commercial load board venue for our industial machinery that ships to all 48 states. Getloaded is one of the major hauling load boards in ths US. It requires an account and we pay a monthly fee. I'd be happy to post your load. Basically how it works is this; you post your origin, destination, and trailer request (BT for Boat Transport). This allows every hauler in the industry (those that have a BT trailer) to see your load (independent, institution and broker) on their monitors instantly in real-time. Now-a-days most trucks have constant internet access and large computer monitors in their rigs, and truckers constantly monitor their routes in realtime. In many circumstances, the wife stays home and monitors the boards for their hubby who's on the road. I've gotten loads secured in a matter of minutes, and some have taken two weeks. The more your willing to pay, the greater your chance of getting Johhny on the spot. GetLoaded.com has a state-of-art database that allows truckers to querry to their needs and wants, this eliminates nuisence calls to the shipper. The key is staying away from brokers, aka middle men that promise you the moon and deliver you a pebble after they've taken your money. The good news is most BT haulers are independents and knowing who's a broker and an owner/operator is just a matter of experience. You also post your fee (the price your willing to pay) and they can accept, counter offer, or decline. In either case, everything is done over the phone, not the net when it comes to negotiations. Unlike UShip, GetLoaded.com only has "real" haulers that have DOT certificates, insurance, and have been pre-screened for authenticity. All loads are done with authentic BOL and invoice. UShip has a lot of fly-by-night and Nobody operators that are not insured, so you take the risk if something goes wrong. I don't know the "per mile rate" for hauling boats but I can find out Monday. Bottom line, getloaded.com works great and we've used this load board for 7 years now. They are the medium for "all" over-the-road commercial trucking linking shipper direcly to the hauler for every type of tranport known to God. It keeps the middle men out of the equation which usually ends up costing 20%. Anywho, if you need assistance just PM me. I'll post your load and foward calls to your cell. When it comes time for the BOL, I'll have one premade for you to give to the driver. Your going to need a method to load your boat and unload at the destination. Commercial truckers want absolutes because time is money.

PS I do know that specialty loads are costing upwards of $6.00 per mile FTL (full truck load). Most BT haulers can handle upwards to 6 boats, your boat will be LTL, (less than truck load) and I would assume your mileage rate somewhere around $1 to $1.25 per mile. Also, the average hauler now gets $9K to $10K (FTL) going from CA to eastern seabaord.

                  Uship

I used Uship to ship my rz2 last summer about 1500 miles. I had a very good experience. The problem with Uship is that there are probably thousands of different people that provide the service. You post an ad for shipping, people bid on it. All the while you communicate with the people who are bidding / shipping the items for you. It's somewhat like ebay, the shippers have feedback. You may even be able to communicate with past customers. I ended up selecting / accepting a bid from a couple that with a dually ford that hooked up to my boat at the yard in indiana. It took them 4 days to bring it to Utah. I wasn't worried too much about the time. The cost was very reasonable, I think 1200. Yes, they dragged it on the trailer. Other companies had flatbeds where would winch it up, but these folks seemed decent. The best part about Uship was that I was able to communicate will all bidders BEFORE I accepted their bid. It all worked out really well.
