    The New 24 Ve'

I got to see the new 24 Ve'. I had heard about it over the summer from a friend in LA. WOW! Major improvements. Especially sense I was starting to lean away from Tige'. Most noticable was the rear. Gone is the long swoop that made getting in your boots less than simple. Now you'll have a ledge to sit on, your feet can go straight down and 3 glove compartments to store gloves, slime, and whatever you may need. This did free up some more room in the boat. The million dollar question is, Why is there a submersed transom light under the deck? Is this a s/f. I don't think so. Just something else to go wrong. How does this benefit me. Things I'd like to see. I did call the factory with a few ?'s and suggestions.

Why don't my feet hit the floor? I am 6-1 and felt akward not being able to touch the floor. I missed the 45 degree footboard at the helm.

Can we have an adjustable rudder trim? I think I would like it and feel cheated if I don't have it or at least the option when everyone else does.

I've heard they were coming and can't wait. I want.... No I demand a nice tower with SWIVEL RACKS. I don't want to feel less than another boat.

If we are going to keep up with the competition we need to listen and get off the hook. If I do spend 55k on my dream boat I want more. I spend one late night a year on the water at Big Bear, Ca. I am not sure I like the positioning of the Nav Lights as I think they are hard to see from the rear quarters of the boat, i.e. why I embrace MC midship nav lights and tower anchor light, which is so convenient and outa my way.. Hope your listening Tige' it's time to get off the hook. I contacted Tige' and felt a less than warm ear to my suggestions. Even a simple snap on the walkway cushion perplexed them. Their comment was that it tested ok and they had no problems. Factor in some major usage, long miles, big water, my luck/murphy's law, and we will have a problem. I have enough to deal with and just want an anchor snap.

I WANT ANOTHER TIGE' AND IF YOU WANT ME TO BUY IT YOU WILL HAVE TO STEP UP OR AT LEAST LISTEN.

FINAL THOUGHT DON'T LET THE GAME PASS YOU BY.

There is a transom light under the swim platform for wake surfing, so if YOU think it will be a problem that's easy, it's an option, don't get it.

Swivel board racks are also an option.

CessnaCaptain - It is great to hear that you are so excited about the new 24Vé. It really is an incredible boat. The user function was the most important part of the development of this boat. So it is excellent to hear that it is working out so well. We at Tigé appreciate all of your input. Customer and dealer feedback is very important to us and is a major part of the product development. Your phone calls and post on this site have been noted and will all be considered in future. Thanks again.

IMHO Tige has done great job (for the most part) of listening to their customers. I talked to Charlie, the west coast rep., at the boat show here last year for a good 45 min. I was very adamant about the sloped transom that I feel is a horrible design and how much of a pain it was for the rider. I explained my suggestions for it and he listened to every word. He explained to me why it was like that and that Tige owners really liked it for it's styling. Low and behold, new for '06, the Ve series. Now I'm not trying to take credit for it but, there it is, probably the most rider friendly transom out right now. I can't imagine the amount of "customer input" these guys get on a daily basis but, you can't expect them to drop everything and listen to you and you alone. All you can do is present your ideas in reasonable manor and wait. Tige has always been an innovator in the tow boat industry and their designs show it.

I'm not the biggest fan of the newer Tiges and my posts on this site will more that back that up. Having said that, I still think Tige is a great builder with very solid design ideas. Just because I don't agree with some of those ideas doesn't make Tige the bad guy. The bad guy here is you CessnaCaptian. Your pissing and moaning doesn't do anybody any good. If you need a snap so bad have one made. Don't come on here and bash Tige for not making you one. "I have enough to deal with and just want an anchor snap." That's just ignorant. You deserve to be slapped like a b!tch for that one. You have some good ideas and some of the things you want, I want but, your attitude stinks.

Somebody needed to say it and, you know me, I'm not afraid to call it how I see it. Thanks for the second on that though.

              Hmmmmmm...

You know it's interesting, pretty much everything you mentioned, I got through the design and fitting of the boat that I have ordered. I didn't like the Tige tower and racks...guess what, I ordered a Phatte Budde tower instead with the racks I wanted... The speaker placements of four in the boat weren't what I as a musician would be satisfied with...guess what, I ordered more and amps etc...

While 55k may get you the boat sans trailer etc...you are right, it won't have all the goodies that you want. Get with your dealer and they will completely hook you up on all the "stuff" that wil make you happy. Our new 24Ve should be here within weeks and we can't wait... The best part about it is that we customized it to the point where we were happy and the boat does and has the options etc. that we want. No whining...just break out your check book and start ordering what you want!!! Enjoy the research and ordering process and have some fun... wrangler

BTW...if you go to page 17 of the thread above called 2006 Tiges, you will find a head to head comparison between the 24Ve and the Malibu 23 with pictures. There is also a good write up on the Malibu 247 as the thread heads on a couple of pages more... Good info in there if I do say so myself!!!

                  Final Thought.

Thanks for the reply. I did not intend to sound like a Tige basher. I love my Tige' but know what I have to have in a boat. 55k is alot of money and I demand a safe boat that makes sense. I love the new transom and dislike a few things. I might even wait a year to let the bugs come out of this boat. When I do get my new Tige and get it fixed exactly the way I want it I will be an advertiser and extreme user. Thanks for your input especially from Tige'.

                    Hey wrangler-

Where did you place your additional speakers? I too feel the stereo upgrade Tige provides is not good enough and plan to do some serious upgrading. What brand of speakers, amps, etc. are you going with.
I will be picking up a 24Ve as well. Thanks.

Dan - Everything is Alpine. We are doing four in the main cockpit area...one behind each of the three drink holders and one close to the driver's seat...

Two speakers in the walk through - one to the fore and one to the aft of the walk through...

The two normal spots for speakers in the bow area.

Four cans welded to the tower and powdercoated to match...

A 12" subwoofer in front of the driver's feet.

Three Amps - one for the sub(1000 watts), one for the main cockpit (1000 watts), and one for the tower (500 watts).

Three batteries to keep everything up and running.

Ipod adapter so the head unit will control an ipod and it still has the flexibility to host XM if we want it...

What part of the country are you located in? If you are out here in Cali...I would say go see Daniel at Tige Watersports...he is into the stereo options on the boats and has a good feel for what works and doesn't... I hope that helps... wrangler

My wonderful wife has been very patient on the "upgrades..." The kids don't even know to what extent the stereo has gotten out of hand. I guess that is the mid life crisis part of this boat! It will be fun. Thankfully, they are not particularly into rap music...funny, they have a pretty wide variety of likes ranging from Kansas to Wang Chung to Green Day and Third Day!

There is another sweet 24Ve sitting in the bays at Tige Water Sports right now with a stereo that surpasses mine by a long shot owned by another member of this board... I will let him talk his own rig up...but let it just be said that the Navy is doing studies on his boat to determine if sub woofers of that substantial a size and wattage can be used as a new weapon system!

Wake Havasu...you went motor...I went stereo!
