    St. Patty's at Tahoe

Not quite boating weather. Sure was nice though. 1'-2' of fresh. One of the best days I've ever had at Homewood. Hardly anybody there. We hit powder all day.

Nicky.... you gots to hit me up when you do things like this!!!

All my buddies bailed on my yesterday, and I don't like to hit up the mountain on pow days alone.

I like homewood. It's more of a locals resort.

Sorry dude. I figured for sure you would be up there somewhere. It was bitchin.

My buddy's dad passed away unexpectedly a few years back and we always get together once a year on his birthday at Homewood (his home resort) for a memorial ski day. There's usually about 20 of us ranging from 60+ years old to 5 years old. Kinda cool. A few us generally sneak away and go get some good runs in. We got lots yesterday.

              Rub it in! HAHA!

I was in Denver last week, and all my buddies had family duty this weekend. No one could get away.

Great pics and looks like it was an awesome day for remembrance.

Homewood is one of my Tahoe faves. My other fav is Alpine Meadows -- wonder if they will ever build a chair that links the two as rumored.

I was just out there two weeks ago and hit Sugar Bowl and Northstar (because I had never been to either).

I always want to board Kirkwood but never have enough time for the drive (I usually stay in Reno for business).

Actually, we were taking about the Alpine/Squaw connection. Most of the land between the two resorts is wilderness preserve. There is however one small strip that is private property. The guy who owns it has already installed lift towers for linking the two. He and the previous owner of Squaw did not have a good relationship. Now that ownership had changed, it might actually happen. If you buy a lift ticket at either resort, you can use it at the other. You just have to drive to the other. It seems to me that this would be a precursor to the joining of the two. It's so close to happening, it would be hard to imagine it not happening. If you know what you're doing and you're not afraid to poach it, it can be done. Sure would be nice just to jump on a lift though.

Last season, I had lucky timing in March to be at Homewood the day after a 10 day storm/blizzard dumped 4 ft of fresh powder. It was TOO MUCH for me to handle. I have never been that exhausted from a 9-4 day of boarding. My local hill, which we hit every weekend, is a 350 vertical foot drop . You can imagine we get no "powder days".

Dang, I miss snowboard season so much already and it just ended. Boating and wakeboarding are awesome -- but snowboarding is so ... selfish. All those carves without having to wait your turn. I am lucky to grab two runs in a day of wakeboarding on a full boat. In comparison, a few Saturday's ago, I did 32,700 vertical feet over 23 lifts rides.

Whaaaaaaaaat?!?! The season here will to til the end of April, and possibly till the end of May if we continue to get dumps like this past weekend.

Squaw was opened on 4th of July last year.

I was at Homewood during that crazy March dump. Way too much snow for Homewood. It was all you could to just point it and make it down. Over the head face shots all day.

We played hookie yesterday, and went to Kirkwood. One of my top 5 days skiing. Plus got to try out my new powder skis .
