Philanthropy and Boating

All,

I was curious as to if anyone on these forums used their boats to reach out to less fortunate families in their community. My wife and I were discussing this idea and upon searching the web and these forums I didn't find much.

I did find this which is what I had in mind but not in my part of the country.

Basically, we would like to devote some of our boat use to personal enjoyment and some of it to helping others enjoy boating and watersports (preferably through an established organization) but I guess we could form something on our own.

tigeblood. I have tried to find out more about WTW and believe there is a grounp around in Oklahoma too. I left a post somewhere, not sure what site may have been this one to volunteer my time and boat. I got an email once but it was a forwarded email with many forwards so was not sure whom to contact. If you find out more I would be interested. Where are you at?

Search here for goboardgo he is one that is setting up events. Search also for WTW in Oklahoma. There were some others in or area interested just not sure if they got it going or not.

Hey Tigeblood!

Not sure where you are exactly. If you want to travel and help out with KC I am sure that August would love to have your help.

If you are interested in hosting an event, I have an info package I can send you. Everyone that has ever done it says, "that was much easier than I thought it was going to be". The volunteers are awesome, rarely will you get tuned down.
