Yeah, I would like to hear if there is anything besides,
"After hearing about corrosion problems w/ marine power"
or "not sure about what the specifics are, as I believe that may be part of an non-disclosure type thing... from the way they were hinting at it. It was strongly suggested that I go with mercruiser".
Those are the same type of unsubstantiated rumors that Tige battled for years with the wood construction and failure. Now someone starts a corrosion rumor, or are there any facts?

315 I think is underpowered for the 24v isnt it? OR is that the boat u have?
I agree, I only know of one person spreading this rumor which he heard from his local dealer, you would think if it were true people would be here complaining and thats what I'm looking for. I want facts from owners. SO, does anyone have this engine yet?

Not saying from exp. i have the 21i and i am not sure if you loaded it with weight and all but i know the MC X-80 is running off of 385 hp, that boat however is 28 feet long as opposed to the 24. If you put a 4 blade on the 24v you would get plenty of torque to run it with 315. I am not saying i wouldn't get the bigger engine all i am saying is that if it bothers you that much go for the other. IMO go with the vortec.
before i got my tige in decemeber i had an offshore fishing boat that was 21ft and it had a 175 on it and that was enough power to run it 42 mph, and i could add weight and it would still go just fine.

ruune please dont take it wrong, if I was told that by my local dealer I'd let people know just like you are.
I do want to know if there are people actually with this problem though. I went to the website and they say they have been doing these engines for 30 years. I do remember you saying they were new to the marine industry but they arnt.
