Once you move to Florida you learn to toughen up and swim with the gators (all sizes). Lets see you Pansy AZZ Yankee boys come down here and swim 30' away from the marsh and grass beds. [/QUOTE]

    Nobodys got a point!

Most of my FL boating was intercoastals (East coast, Melbourne). But we boated and skied on small fresh water lakes sometimes. As Nobody says, that takes nerves, especially when you can see gators sunning on the banks.

I remember being in a canoe on a lake (paddled out from fresh water spring) near dusk (i.e., feeding time) and a gator longer than the boat from tip to tail swims by, seemingly oblivious to the bite sized Chihuaha yapping in the bow.

It's my understanding that gators know instinctively the difference between a Yankee and a Southerner, and of course have a blood thirst for those cold blooded ghostly white looking people from the north.
