    adding a 12v socket

Has anyone ever thought about adding a flush mount 12v socket in there locker for manual pumps? Can't afford jumping to the auto pumps just yet and thought this would be nice not having cords eveywhere while filling and empting. ??? If some already have, where? And flush mount or surface mount?

It was the first mod I did to my 22Ve when we got it in 06. Drilled the hole in the back wall of the port locker, mounted the socket and wired right to the battery, fused of course.

Ive got a couple in stock if you want one? $4.50 and a few bucks to ship.

When I added my second battery (thanks Chpthril for all the hookups) I added one on each side. Best move I could have made for the manual pump I use. Really easy to do, just put in an inline fuse and hooked direct to the battery.

My 24Ve came from the factory with flush mount sockets in the lockers. Are you talking about older models?

One idea I've seen is to use a neutrik connector instead of a cig lighter socket because it locks the connection in and doesn't have the annoying habit of breaking the connection when you've got the bag 2/3 full. It requires snipping the male end off of the pump of course.

I haven't done it but it does seem like a good idea. Hate it when the pump is in the lake and quits running and you can't really tell for a couple of minutes because the hose is still full of water.

The OP has a 2006. My 2007 does not have them either. I considered doing it to make blowing up the tube easier.

Thats actually a pretty nifty idea. Costs a bit more, but sounds like a solid solution.
