2012 Lake Mead Reunion September 21-23

UPDATE!! I spoke with the local NPS today and found out some very interesting news....long story short....we need to change a few things for this year. All sponsorship and promotion type activity will need to be done off lake as Lake Mead is a National Park. A Business cannot promote their product, hand out flyers or swag on Federal Land? Therefore, we will set up a "Customer Appreciation Event" at either the local dealership or BWW like previous years probably on Thurs night and the "BBQ" at the lake will be just that....a friendly get together of friends and family no different that a holiday weekend. I don't want anyone to go off on a long tangent about this being BS, but by all means, comment if you feel I have posted incorrect information. This was a 90 minute conversation with a very pleasant lady who is only making sure we don't get tickets for illegal activity. I think the years in the past, we were lucky to have not gotten visited by Rangers, especially when the local dealer was sponsoring it. This all came about today after finding out the new dealer isn't allowed to have a demo day for the Tige MyWake Event.....please PM me if you have any specific questions, I will even PM you my cell # if you want to talk over the phone about any of this....

It would be nice to have a get together at the dealership, maybe a BBQ there?
Ideas?

Maybe we are just making it more than it needs to be? I'm just happy getting together on a beach/cove and hanging out with each other. No prizes or banners are needed. Just owners, getting together and having a good time.
As far as having it at a different location, when Tigé Watersports of Corona held their regattas it was originally at Lake Havasu at the Nautical Inn then later at the Blue Water Casino on the Parker strip section of the river. That would be quite a drive for the Utah chapter.

I have no idea about what the cost might be, but maybe it would be worth checking into Lake Las Vegas for hosting a "company" portion of the event (demo or whatever). At least it is close, and they do allow wakeboarding for special events - a collegiate wakeboarding competition was just held there, followed a couple weeks later by the Centurion Boats unveiling of their new FX22 model.
That location wouldn't work for the main on-the-water reunion, but that could still happen on Mead.

How much would the fine be for still having it on the lake? Maybe it would be "worth the risk", after all we have had the event now for 5 or 6 years and haven't had an issue. What are the chances of actually being cited, and how much would the fine be? I'm sure that Tall would be willing to cover the fine if it's only a few hundred bucks. If he doesn't reply within the next 24 hours, I would conclude that he agrees with that.

Well we do have to give him a chance to get back from Lake Powell to respond at the end of the week. BUT on the other hand since he is at Lake Powell and we are not for the week should we give him the time to respond.www.automarinecare.com CWB, ACME, FlyHigh, Merc Marine, PCM, Marine-power, WETSOUNDS, HSE Volume Controls, Kicker, Sony, Samson Sports, and many other marine parts or accessory's.

A friend of mine (I would never do such) has had a 3rd bail on him at the last minute when doing a morning wakeboard trip. He just asked his buddy if he was willing to split the ticket if they got one for not having an observer. Especially when there is no one else at the lake.
Same principle applies here. It might be nice to just do it anyway. I have never seen a water cop north of Echo.
I am not sure how to go about asking how much the ticket would be. Maybe it would need to be in the context of a Mastercraft reunion someone was planning in July.Be excellent to one another.

I think we will still have everything there, just no banners. The Aquapalooza (sp) event raised the issue of having events on Federal Land and now they are being more aware of the fact that it's been happening. When Herb form Echo Bay mentioned it last year, it was because they had brought it to his attention and he didn't want anyone to get in trouble. having a "reunion" with family and friends is perfectly legal, it's the "sponsorship" and "advertisement" they dislike. I think we will do the meet and greet at the dealer, assuming the offer still stands, like we have done at BWW in years past. The freebies can either be given then or drawn for the day of and picked up at the dealership. This creates less hassle and keeps "them" happy. Thoughts?
