    Prop

Has anyone ever purchased a used prop or a prop that was damaged, but not fixed by the owner, because they decided to just buy a new one?

A little strange question I guess, but I am thinking about investing in a spare prop for this summer.

Thanks for all of the thoughts in advance.

I would get a picture of it and let your prop repair facility look at it to make sure it can be straightened. Before you buy it.

      x2.

Do you have one in mind and at what cost? A fix is usually $150.00 and up.

I have found a place online that sells props, prop pullers and even used props. He quoted me a used prop for about $275 or so.

I would have no idea the condition it was in before being repaired. I guess the main thing would be to see what type of warranty they would offer for a used prop.

I also just wanted to see if anyone has ever bought one this way and to see how it all worked out.

Okay i misunderstood your first post.Your asking if anyone has bought a reconditioned prop. That is one that has been repaired and is being resold. The only advice i could give you is to talk to others who have purchased from this company and see if they were pleased with what they purchased.

            kvon,

            Hey stranger, you live?

I got my spare prop here, cheapest place on the net but it was new. This is my spare prop.

And I needed it last summer as I tweaked a couple of blades on the old prop and had to get it repaired.

Then when you need a prop repair go here:

            http://baumannprops.com/

If you can't or don't want to drive into town, they have drop-off locations at various marinas and stores throughout the city, but you may have to pay a small pick-up/delivery fee. I drove right to their location on my lunch break and they had the prop ready in a few days. There is a standard fee for prop repair.

Then I bought this case and tools in one package to store prop and tools so I can find it quikly when needed:

I got the case with the "C" clamp.
