I fail to see, what in the answers given early on caused you to post negative there after.
You received good honest answers with no bashing, but since you openned the door, I have the pleasure of serviceing and working on every major brand of ski boat out, also my sons and I have extensive knowledge of there performance on the water from wake surfing to barefooting, you will not find a better construted boat than a Tige and the beating it will take, that you cant see in viewing only with years of use, pertaining to fuel economy you were correct in saying hull design not the motors, and that equates to almost double of all competitores, however due to moombas thinner fiberglass which means overall less weight they come closer but not much.
If you have the chance to test both boats , besure and go out on a big lake , windy day white cap chops and let both boats run at wide open into the wind , besure and wear ear plugs in the moomba to protect from the rattles and cracking sounds, and wear some kind of kidney protection from the pounding.
Your best bet is to purchase a used one year old moomba you should be able to get one for half the price.
Sorry if I affended anyone I get upset when you try to help somebody and they insult you.

To the OP here is what you have failed to understand.
The R20 was created along side the RZR to be a price point Tige since it was replacing the 20v which was at its time a great priced 20 footer with great quality and performance. But Tige needed a change and to innovate as fast growing companies do. The RZR was designed to take Tige up the ladder of competition (and with new innovations and models like the Z3 it's only a matter of time that they claim there spot on the pole) but the R20 was built for the 20v owners and buyers that want a truely quality boat with the lowest possible price.
Tige did not create the R20 to compete with an entire line of inboard boats such as Moomba. The R20 was created to be an entry Level Tige and nothing more, therefore it only lacks all the fancy shamcy stuff and non of the build quality. The R20 was designed and engineered in a way that Tige could manufacture it at the lowest possible cost to them, while still keeping the quality Tige build process and materials.
Comparing such a boat as the R20 to say a moomba or axis is never going to be comparing apples to apples. Boats like moombas and axis have sacarficed build quality in custruction and materials used to accomplish such pricing this is what makes them Entry level ski boats. Tige is not willing to sacifrice there key build qualities and materials that have made them the fastest growing inboard company in the market place today.Last edited by 91Terminator; 02-26-2012, 02:41 PM.FairTax.org

Tige is well built, but is it the definition of Quality?
Does bling equate to quality?
Moomba builds a very good boat for the price.
Tige<>BMW in the boat world and neither is Moomba.
I would compare Tige to Lexus.Style,Features,Technology and Reliability!I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

I spent quite a bit of time in a 2006 Moomba Mobius LSV that my buddy had while I had my I/O. The next year is when I discovered Tige and I couldn't believe the difference between my RZ2 and the Mobius. I don't know why you can't spell Camaro properly or why you're even trying to compare an RZ2 to a Mojo but obviously you have some issues with either your recent purchase or you just want to rile everyone on here up. Moomba's are nice entry level boats and as such, their price reflects that. See my prior post as to why the Tige costs more, there's more thought and engineering in it. Why does the Supra cost more than the Moomba? Same reason!

I have not tested or been in a mojo on the water, but got a good look at the Calgary boat show. The boat LOOKS like it will surf, or at least it was designed to. Will it make a good wake on both sides? I don't know. Keep in mind, that I am always looking through surf goggles. You can't compare to the R20 or RZR for surfing, because those are narrower 20 ft boats. A narrower 20 ft boat would normally not surf as well as a wider 22 ft boat.
That being said, I did get a call from Moomba, and they are talking to us about bring one to demo at the Wakesurf Open, so that should be fun.
I would love to see a R20 version of the RZ2, in other words a price point RZ2 that could be had around $60k. Sorely needed for the wakesurf market in NorCal, but just my 2 cents.http://wake9.com/
