He calls it a double haul. I have no idea what it truly does, but the prototype of this board was the fastest I have ever ridden, so I decided I needed one It also is slightly concave and makes it feel loose. It's really an amazing board. Working on art now.
Its a custom shape anyone can buy. Contact me if you want to email or call the shaper. The head shaper from shred stixx made the orginal as his personal board. Instead of doing the norm of what Chase likes he built it around what he would like. He ended up selling it to one of my buddies. Last year on the first surf of the season, I had a brand new custom hazen and I was airing good on it and having fun and my session was up. My buddy Zack gets out and started to rip on the hazen and for fun decided to try this strange looking board my buddy just bought. His eyes just lit up! He started smiling and his airs and drive were amazing. When I got my chance again it was like nothing I have ever surfed. So loose and fast. The only issue is it pearls or digs its nose in. I had to change my riding style slightly and now it doesn't do that anymore Hopefully the shaper can replicate the design for me. The prototype has fcs fins and we are limited on fins for drive. I can't wait to try this beast of a board with futures!!!!
From the bottom, it looks like it has quite a bit of rocker in it but is that because the stringers are being tricky? The top shot makes it look relatively tame on the rocker.
The shaper says it has good rocker but the double haul and convex makes it loose and fast or something. I get lost with all the surf techno mumjo jumbo
Not making fun of it...was driving down the highway and saw the roof of a Prius and it looks exactly like the bottom of your board! LOL! Must be an aerodynamic shape then!
