Before commenting on this I will take part in the original question. I started to obsess over the stereo upgrades back in late october. I wasn't done boating until the 2nd weekend in October. I then bought all of my gear right before Christmas, and took advantage of winter deals. Then I began to plan the install which is currently going on. I haven't touched my install thread cause I have been on travel for work. I am hoping to finish the stereo install in the next two weeks so I can spend march on my ballast install.
That's how I have been keeping myself somewhat busy.

Now, about the snowboarding. I bought an Epic mix pass this year that's good at all vail resorts. We now have three resorts here in the Tahoe area so I have choices. (click here to view my stats). I bought my son one as well. The day passes here at Northstar and Heavenly are creeping up to the $100 mark. I take the hit of a big lump sum in the summer. At the end of the season our "day pass" rate gets down to about $30 a day on the hill. I have only been up 8 times this season cause of work, but I have my week "mancation" coming up where we will be up on a hill for at a minimum of 5 days.

I am shooting for 200,000 vertical feet this year. I am not sure if I going to make it, but I am hoping to.

I love snowboarding but, I just don't ride enough to buy a pass and single day tickets are borderline absurd. I've yet to be up even once this year. I'm sure I'll get one day in in March but, that's just because its a memorial event. For the price of one lift ticket for me, the whole family can go to the lake twice.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I agree with you NICKYPOO..... The prices are NUTS! Two tickets is at least 2-3 tanks of gas if not more.

You guys are all right about the costs of lift tickets. Last year I skied Utah on my brother. He had a lot of free passes to use up as well as 2 days and nights at the Canyons resort. This year it was on me. I got lucky. The first day was free on Park City. When you fly in and ski the same day you can for free. I was on the slope by 9:15. Regular cost is almost $100.00 a day. I bought a 5 day pass for 314.00 so a little over $62.00 but still it adds up.

How do I get through the long winter days waiting for spring. The same way the rest of us do. Hang out on Tige' Owner's and work on our upgrades. I am lucky as I am only about 2 or 3 weeks out.

Yep the price of lift tickets is unreal. Thats why I have a split board and a sled way more bang for your buck. But as my Tahoe area friends know this season sucks for the fluffy white stuff. So I'm very thankfull for having a new boat to me and winter projects to get ready for the summer to keep me busy. Bring on the spring if I can't have my winter. LOL

Amen to that. Thank god last year was epic. The lakes should be fine for a couple years. We definitely can't handle too many more of these "winters". What I should have done was all of the ballast upgrades last year when we were snowed in. I could have been killing it behind the boat all winter. I'm perfectly comfortable with 65 degree air.

Agreed! There are only two useful weather conditions: Snow and sun. Anything in between (like rain or wind) is just a waste of time. We could skip Spring and Fall IMHO, and just switch seasons from summer to winter and back again on the equinoxes.

You think buying your boat at the boat show has made it tough on you - I bought mine in October - took Delivery in December - (I think I have watched every Tige and Wakeboard video out there since). To curve your itch - You have to head to Cable Parks in warm weather to help you get through the daydreaming! Orlando WaterSports Complex is top notch and helped my itch a little. Weather was 82 degrees - Water temp was 68 degrees. It helps I promise, but once you get back I think it made me want to go out even more. Seriously though - head to Texas or Florida and hit up a cable park. Or take your boat down to Texas for Spring Break. Best advice I have...

68F is WAY TOO COLD, boat season starts when water is 78F.
Anywho.....here's a picture to cheer you up. Waiting for summer is truly painful, even for us warm blooded, Tundra driven Nobody's down here in Clearwater.

I would be boarding all winter long with those temps..
