    Anchor Suggestions

I've purchased just about everything needed for my new RZR when it arrives except for an anchor (or actually anchors). What is everyone using? I'm thinking I'll need one for the bow and one for the stern.

Any suggestions? I really wish there was a dedicated anchor storage in the bow. My buddy's X-Star has an anchor compartment in the bow and it's really nice and convenient.

Go with a box anchor. One of the best anchors out there. Throw it out and it will hold multiple boats without much rode on your line. The anchor folds up that will fit in any of your compartments. The only downside with the anchor is the weight.

Box anchor and a Shore Spike - http://www.slideanchor.com/

I bought the shore spike last year and I am looking to get the box anchor this year. I have a navy anchor that doesn't work well. It came with my boat, I might need a heavier one. My brother has fluke anchor that only seems to work at times. My parents bought a box anchor for their waverunner for xmas so they haven't tried it. They were using the bag that you fill with rocks.

Many on here suggest the box anchor and claim that it does indeed hold in many cases. I talked to the owner of slide anchor last year, he mentioned that if you get a bigger one you can tie several boats off of it.

I use a screw in anchor. I have a buddy that builds them in Edmonton , Alberta . Just screw it in tight and sleep all night!

Well I was going to suggest a Danforth anchor. They have always been the best at holding the big sailboats I have crewed on however after watching the video on the box anchor I have to say that it looks promising. The box looks like a modification to the danforth by adding a second set of spikes. A good anchor does not need a lot of weight to work properly just the correct style of design. I like the idea of that slide anchor. May have to get on of them.

I almost bought a Mastercraft because of thier anchor storage area. Love the idea. Tige' needs to add it to the RZ series.

X2 On Skippabcool post. I utilize the box anchor off the bow, and the shore spike from the stern, or switch them around. Either way, I feel satisified knowing were not moving. On the Colorado river where the current can get real strong, I have always been secure with those two. The box anchor is DEFINITELY worth the $, and the shore spike is peace of mind.

Another vote for the box anchor...still on my list to actually buy instead of borrow.

Great call on the box anchor. Should I get the Extra Small or the Small?

Great anchor. If you boat on a windy lake or a river with a strong current I recommend the large. I have the small and will be upgrading to the large. The best anchor I have used.

Box anchor is on my list of upgraded items. I've been using a fluke forever. The only place I anchor is extremely sandy so it works ok but, I really want a box anchor. I always use an Anchor buddy on the fluke and some sort of tie off on the beach, usually a steak during the day and the trailer at night.

Box anchor all the way - I have tried many different anchors and it was worth all $150. Sets every time with no troubles and has never broke loose. Go with the large box anchor in case you have others that tie off on your lead.
