We are ~$.70 a gallon higher. Gas is $3 a gallon, diesel is $3.69-$3.89 here. I figured out that I could save $100 a month on fuel by switching to a gas truck. I don't have one of those unicorn diesels that gets 22mpg, I have the regular one that gets 13 around town and 18 on the highway.

The difference here is only 12C/Gal versus premium unleaded.

12c/gal, or even 35c/gal diff is the least of my worries

Small price to pay for the awesomeness of towing with a diesel.

Nobody (not you Nobody) mentioned the the Allison tranny in the Duramax. Yet another kickazz towing tool.

Congrats on the purchase. The first time you tow your boat, you will giggle about how nice it is owning a real truck.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Yeah, the Allison is pretty sweet! It's really sweet if you have a lot of hills where you live. He will also have the best exhaust brake on the market as well. I love going snowboarding and coming down from Eisenhower tunnel (12k feet) and letting the Allison do all of the work coming back down the hills.

Fo Sho! I love getting of the freeway with the boat. I barely, if it all touch the brakes. The tranny easily does all the work.

Nobody has a real truck. The 6 speed transmission in the Tundra is just like a Allison but smoother.

LOL! Tundra's are nice, they have tons of power (for a gas truck) but let's not be getting carried away with comparing the transmission to an Allison.

I don't drive a single horn diesel. Mine has two horns, it's called a Dodge, and yes it gets 22mpg (does have full Banks system)

The Tundras are nice, I was just ribbing about them.

Here is my tow vehicle, it has training wheels.
