The problem with the Allison trans is it will outlast the truck.
And the trouble with the american trucks is they will out live the tundras, thats why the japanese navy builds glass bottom boats, so they can see the old japanese navy.
I tow my Tige with a diesel, but i could tow it with a gas truck just as easy. It's really up to the owner. There is no right or wrong decision as long as your tow vehicle can handle what your towing.
Toyota is the most RECALLED vehicle in the USA. Just stating facts.
GM has the most truck fires, dodge has the most transmission failures, and Ford has the most Diesel engine problems....IN THE USA, it gets worse if you live abraod. Just stating facts.
It is bought thru the business, as i pow with it. I only live 10 min from work, so fuel costs arent a big deal...but i couldnt get 10 pulling with the 5.3....

Sounds like if you own a Ford truck and it's not a Diesel, then your good to go.

When you build 4x the amount that Toyota does, you might have a few bad ones. LOL! All kidding aside, they are all nice trucks and realistically I would drive any of them.
I drive I-80 in the rockies frequently as well as I-70 through the rockies, I haven't used a counter but it seems that there are mostly Dodges towing heavy loads with Ford being the next. Rarely do you see any of the others. I know many people that buy that F250 just to drive around but don't really use it.
I can't recall the last time I even saw a Ford hauler, a truck that is hired out to haul loads, 3 to 4 cars, goosenecks with parts, campers, several horse trailers, etc... I see Dodges all the time.

I live in Virginia. There are loads of horse enthusiasts here Most of them drive Fords.Chevrolet would be the second most popular. You must have to travel a long ways to see a Dodge and even further to see a Toyota.

You don't need much of truck to pull the flat lands at sea level.
If you are referring to pulling in your mountains, they are really just hills.
