I will be having my interior done soon and was wondering if anyone can tell me what brand of vinyl is TIGE using on the new TIGES with the diamond pattern?

It's the Diamanté Carbon from Spradling Vinyl.

Has anyone had a chance to spend some time out in a 2012 with this vinyl? Does it get really hot or does the material and woven texture keep it from being so hot? It's pretty much black.

I have not spent any time in a 2012...so this is just my incapacity to use my imagination here, but I suspect there is not a way around the simple physics of heat and light here. Dark colors are dark because they absorb more of the color spectrum, hence they absorb more energy. I was concerned about the dark interior that you had chosen for that reason.
It would sure be sweet if we could have some different color choices out there, but I think there is still a reason most boats have light interior colors as the base pattern. Maybe Tige has stumbled across something by complicating the texture, but I would doubt it.
Adam, can you elaborate as to why the vinyl on your 07 is failing already? Your use pattern, sun exposure, etc?Be excellent to one another.

I would think there is room for materials science here. Color alone does not determine heat retention or conductivity. If you have a piece of metal and a piece of styrofoam, both painted black and left in summer sunlight for a few hours, which would you rather stand on with bare feet?

I took out a 2012 RZR with the material and it didn't seem as hot as other vinyl's but I think that might be due to the texture and the fact that it doesn't feel like vinyl but is more cloth-like. I took the boat out on a ~92 degree day and it was definitely better than the materials in my '07 RZ2. Even the dash didn't feel hot at all. Cool stuff!

It would be awesome once someone finds something with the general durability, water resistance, UV resistance and comfort of vinyl, but without the heat absorbing capacity of darker vinyl. Even Seadek gets pretty hot.Be excellent to one another.

I think the Diamanté is the only Spradling vinyl they use currently. The rest is Omnova. I only know this because my entire boat was supposed to be done in Mercury (the other accent option besides the Diamanté) but Omnova just discontinued it. Tige ordered enough to keep them stocked for awhile. Since its no longer made, I don't think it's smart for me to do the whole interior in it.
I've ordered several samples from Omnova and Spradling which I hope comes in today or tomorrow. I'm really hoping the Meteor color looks good in person. I'm almost tempted to do the entire interior in the Diamanté Snow with silver or grey stitching.

Here is a couple pictures of the condition of my vinyl. The first two is the engine hatches. The third picture shows one of several places that the vinyl seems to be very thin and worn thru a little creating a tear. The fourth and fifth are stitching issues The last picture is the front cushion and the two tears started off small cracks and grew fast.
Again I purchased the boat used and have no idea how it was treated. Other than the vinyl the boat seems to be in great shape and now (after a distributor cap issue) runs great.Attached Files
