      Ragboy,

So looking at this picture it shows the chine starts to blend in about 5 feet from the transom and the chine has fully disappeared about 2 feet? These distances are complete guesses Any way you could measure the distance the chine totally disappears at?

y, I should be able to at the boat show, if not, maybe when we get it back to cms or gold key, we can pull it up and measure. Because this is too cool of a project.

Ok, so I am getting these cut out on monday. I need a shape design. Here are a couple of other boat options. Seems like MB and centurion are flat for about an inch or two. The z3 and the malibu seem similar. Any thoughts and or ideas?

This something I think about a lot. Do you have any pics of the cut they were producing in your wake?

Right off the bat, I would say try to rotate that edge as it comes back from the chine to where it was in line with the V. From negative chine to no chine at all (1). The more I think about it though, the more I want to see it be round (2). Perhaps though, just keep it simple, a bevel (3).

Monday, Wow this is a big step in your inland surfing and wave making addiction. Perhaps we should have an intervention soon. Can't wait to see that wave in person. How long does it take for a job like this to be completed?

What about making it look like that new G23? It slopes inward at the edge.

I have no pictures, but I see it the whole time I am surfing. The chines just cut in and cause wash. That's why my wave isn't as "pretty" as my avalanche. I think just rounding the corners would be fine. Also how far up to go is another question.

I don't think I would go more than 4". I think around 3" would a good ballpark. Perhaps just as high as the chine is wide.

Instead of cutting them out, have you thought of just filling them in?
                      Waiting for another good one!

Filling them in would actually be harder, according to my guy. Also the V of the hull would be minimized. Which would hurt the surf wave.

Nick- I plan on cutting them out at the same distance distance that the channels on the bottom stop. I think it's about 1.5 feet in.

Oh, up as in up the edge of the hull, not vertical up.

Hmm, 18". Seems kinda slim. I guess we are only talking about 11-12 mph max? Is just hate to see it be not enough. It probably is but...

The rest of the channels or sort of fins in the hull end at a set distance. I am just going to copy it Any further up and you would cut my brewery logo

Good god, don't cut the logo!

I believe the term you're looking for is "strakes". The strakes in the hull stopped at x distance.

                                Haha. strakes!

Anyone know why some boats have a flat section there in the chine?
